As a heel, you put guys over not put yourself over.

Most "heels" don't get that. They all want to be Hollywood Hulk Hogan or Triple H. That's why faces can't get over and people cheer for the bad guys, even when the bad guy turns face after all the cheering he got as a heel (see: Seth Rollins).

He knows, for example, he sucks on the mic. So he took the mic, put him over subtly on the mic while doing his heel work, then took the subsequent bumps and selling of AJ's offense.

If your heel can't put over the face and the face doesn't know how to be a face, then of course people would rather cheer the heel.

Up until there's a real heel that actually highlights what's so good about the face. Hence the Miz. The only time he really failed at heeling it up is the smark heat absorber known as John Cena.

I would say AJ was tweeible on the mic when he first came in but he is pretty damn good now, some of his promo work with Cena was exceptional. Only problem now is how they are ramming catchphrases down his throat and it is much worder to work promos as a face.

Alot of people are better than face AJ because it is harder doing promos as a face, all of the best mic workers in the WWE are heel, The Miz, Alexa Bliss, Paul Heyman, Seth when he was heel and Kevin Owens and AJ was up there aswell when he was a heel.
