Is lightsaber combat bigger than HEMA?
>>2679827
Probably this one since it's been created first.
Also a question to you guys, what are some exotic/strange weapons from european manuals?
Like stuff from P.H.Mair but from someone else.
>>2680944
I'm not sure I remember it right, but there was something like rapier or smallsword vs sausages
>>2681105
>vs sausages
u wot?
>>2681105
Actually it was typhus infected sausages. Adn the gents have been Rudolf Virchow and good ole Otto von Bismark.
As a cofounder and member of the liberal party (Deutsche Fortschrittspartei) he was a leading political antagonist of Bismarck. He was opposed to Bismarck’s excessive military budget, which angered Bismarck sufficiently to challenge Virchow to a duel in 1865.[22] Of the two versions, one has Virchow declining because he considered dueling an uncivilized way to solve a conflict. The second has passed into legend, but was well documented in the contemporary scientific literature. It has Virchow, having been the challenged and therefore entitled to choose the weapons, selecting two pork sausages, a normal sausage and another one, loaded with Trichinella larvae. His challenger declined the proposition as risky.
Shit stained pitchforks is another unusual dueling weapons.
daily reminder to train takedowns!

Yes, I've got into the infight so much that it's really crucial in my club.

>>2681174
Something like this? They aren't sausages of course but a six-part flail.
daily reminder to stab em in the balls!
>>2681266
That's why I ALWAYS use groin protection (he probably also did and it still hurt like hell)
>>2681266
pay attention girls, this is how you win against the boys.
>>2681266
next time a newbie asks me if a cup is mandatory i'll just show him this, thanks
>>2682236
I really need to go check for the most unusual duel weapons ever used.
Am I the only one who watches Matt Eston just to see him accidentally lop an ear off?
>>2681203
Yea thanks but throwing or getting thrown onto hard flooring like that is fucking retarded.
I had plenty of fun with that at >25 but I was fortunate to come away with injuries that essentially let up after a few years. I'd rather be spritely at 70 than hardcore at 30.
Best way to bend your Feder to boot.
>>2678501
Objectively this is how we all look to Normies anyway.
Money is money. I'm glad they're diversifying.
>>2683157
I don't think having mats would do much to save the feder.
>>2681203
Why is this one so short? It starts part way into the throw already, and barely shows it finish. Is the video it's from on youtube or something? I'd like to see the whole thing.
>>2683201
>Money is money. I'm glad they're diversifying
Yeah, but let's see if they can actually deliver and not, y'know, dramatically change without warning anyone again.

Not really exotic but unusual, there are plays like Hat against rapier ("Schermkunst"?), Rapier and pistol against rapier and dagger (Hundt, and that's basically cheating), Rapier and lantern against rapier (Marcelli iirc), all those weird "those sticks that were lying there" against spear and dagger in Fiore, Sword and gauntlet in the Anonimo Bolognese.
There was a good post on "elegantweapon" titled "extraordinary plays" which is basically all about such plays, but unfortunately there wasn't anything about Girard's sausage-y flail.
What are your smoothest 'dance' moves /hema/?
