Tyler in his Undies edition

A UK Special
Expect UK style wrestling
No idea who's fighting in this
>>
Brits should be exterminated
>>
I like the Regulator's look, like a cleaner Mideon
>>
>unless wolfgang had one too many IRN BRUs before the match

Fuckin based Nigel.
>>
>>2663817
Will not be watching. Bunch of 5'11 & under guys with hipster faical hair doing no selling indie wrestling in front of obnoxious fans.

Tyler Bate is an embarrasment; he's the face of WWE UK scene? regaulr people would laugh at this midget.

Here in the UK for boxing with have Anthony Joshua & Tyson Fury - two big imposing guys.
>>
TJP and Kendrick Vs Dan Maloney and Rich Swann
>>
>>2663827
UK scene isn't smaller guys, it just doesn't have a homosexual pensioner with a roid fetish artificially increasing the size of the rosters.

Tyler Bate was a weird choice for first champ because of his size, you're right there at least.
>>
I was at this - crowd is muted af
>>
"What's this wanker thing?" - Something Jim Ross legitimately just said on an edited, broadcast WWE program.
>>
>>2663827
>tfw you don't actually like wrestling and you just want to see the biggest possible men in the least clothes grappling eachother
>>
>>2663858
its live you mongrel.
yesterday they had the taped versions.
>>
>>2663883
No it's not, they taped all these recently.
>>
>le beating hometown heroes meme
>>
>>2663827
>caring about another man's height
Can't get gayer than this.
>>
fuck everyone on this show besides Based Dunne and Flippy Andrews
>>
>>2663913
No-one asked for your opinion, tripcunt.
>>
>fuckin progress championship on camera

So it's on the network then

I actually prefered the theme they wrote for him before.
>>
>>2663858
They seem into it.
>>
Why wasn't this just aired last week?
>>
>>2663858
don't think it's mic'ed like other wwe shows
>>
>>2663957
It tends to be a thing with smaller venues and WWE. They sound very loud when you are there, but on TV it sounds like less people into it than your average RAW - because it is.
>>
>>2663971
yeah guess they have to keep a hierarchy of sorts
>>
>>2663855
WWE UK scene is.

If it had McIntyre, Barrett, Sheamus, Magnus, Bram, Rob Terry, Davey Boy Jr. etc. it might have been worth watching.
>>
>>2663975
It's just WWE not being that good at setting up mics and balancing it, and what we are used to. If you make a smaller crowd too high in the mix you can hear individual conversations and the one guy who starts a NFSW chant.
>>
>>2663870
Guarantee my big men would out draw your small men.
>>
>>2663979
Yeah that was my point, sorry if I wasn't clear. WWE picked smaller guys, mostly because a lot of the bigger ICW guys seemed to end up more with the ITV thing and they got most their roster from PROGRESS who have smaller/medium sized guys doing the strong style thing.

You need to get over your Big Guy fetish and just come out. Jerk one off to gay porn before you watch wrestling so you can just focus on whoever is the most talented/entertaining.
>>
>>2663818
This.
>>
>>2663988
Ditto you need to get over your napoleon complex riddled little man fetish and admit you like dick
>>
>>2663929
That wasn't a WWE specific theme I believe, but yeah it was much better than whatever they're playing now
>>
>>2664000
Nah I like all sizes of wrestlers, how tall someone is isn't really a factor for me, it's strange that it is for you. Appearance isn't a factor it's more about ability in the ring, on the mic etc., having a good gimmick.
>>
>>2664004
Yeah it was, it was a CFO$ theme that was heavily based on his real one, but I actually thought was better.
>>
Didn't they already announce Dunne vs Bates for Takeover before this?
>>
It's nice hearing the football chants by British fans for British wrestlers and not Full Sail University autists not understanding what they are doing.
>>
>>2664011
yeah

lol
>>
Bate is so based
>>
This is what was missing from the UK tournament imo, a proper WoS technical style match, it was strange how they didn't have a single showcase like that, you generally get at least one match like this on a card here.
>>
>>2663985
Except two of the biggest names in combat sports right now are manlets in McGregor and Mayweather. Nobody cares about size anymore.
>>
>DAT FUCKIN LARIAT

Jeebus
>>
>>2663827

In 1997 Stone Cold Steve Austin was the 4th smallest guy in a roster of 30.

He still paid their salary with his merch revenue.

''Imposing'' guys haven't been drawing dimes for the past 20 years.
>>
BASED Mandrews carrying that tranny fucker to a 4.5 star match
>>
>>2664092
This, gimmicks win every time.

The smaller guys don't draw/vanilla midget meme is back from when a bunch of technical workers who were smaller and loved by le Meltz were trying to break through.

But even some of those guys like Eddie actually became huge stars because of their charisma when they were finally given a chance. What people care about are gimmicks, characters, cool moves and great feuds.

The meme doesn't really apply outside that example/time period, if you look in any promotion in the world it's the most charismatic guys that draw.
>>
>>2664097
>watching wwe

traitor
>>
>>2664092
He might have been on the shorter end of the spectrum, but he was ripped.

HHH is also relatively short. But he's ripped.

Both are (still, in their 40s/50s) far more imposing than almost every NXT wrestler and callup
>>
>>2664303
>austin was ripped

lolno, he was pretty big looking, but he's wasn't cut at all.
>>
>>2664092
Stone Cold was still huge in his prime though

>>2664321
Yeah Steve Austin is a big man - very thick, he makes regular joes look small. 6'2 in his prime and 250lb. Shrunk an inch to 6'1 now according to himself on his podcast,
>>
Didn't they do two nights of tapings? It was only 100 minutes long.

I know they had two additional matches on YouTube too, but still.
>>
>>2664533
Austin's strong appearance is almost entirely built around his facial hair and his neck. He doesn't have a normal neck that curves in then out for a chin he just has a stump. You look at him and go "this guy is a wall of meat, fuck fighting that". Look at the guys around him, his height isn't what's making him imposing compared to them, it's that he's just thick in all the areas usually thin on a person. It implies he's made of muscles with no real weak spots.

>>2665136
Got a link? I have family in UK wrestling and would like to see if the retard made it
>>
>>2665195
A link to the match results from the tapings? I just googled it. We missed out on TWO Tyson T-Bone matches!

Saturday’s results:

-William Regal thanked the fans and announced Mark Andrews vs. James Drake later with the winner earning a title shot tomorrow

-Mark Andrews defeated James Drake

-Saxon Huxley & Akira Tozawa defeated Brian Kendrick & Tony Nese

-Pete Dunne defeated Sam Gradwell

-TJP defeated Rich Swann

-Tyson T-Bone defeated Dan Moloney

-Trent Seven defeated Wolfgang

-WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate defeated Joseph Conners

Sunday’s results:

-Wolfgang defeated Joseph Conners

-TJP & Brian Kendrick defeated Dan Moloney & Rich Swann

-Tyson T-Bone defeated Saxon Huxley

-Akira Tozawa defeated Tony Nese

-Triple H cut a promo in the ring and thanked fans for making the shows possible

-Sam Gradwell defeated James Drake

-Pete Dunne defeated Trent Seven to become the new #1 contender

-WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate retained over Mark Andrews. After the match, Dunne attacked Andrews and out came William Regal. Dunne and Bate had a staredown while Regal watched.

These are the two matches they put on YouTube earlier today:

Sam Gradwell vs. Pete Dunne

Wolfgang vs. Trent Seven

>>2665210
How the fuck did Vince ever greenlight this? This is so fucking cheap. If JR wasn't there I would think it was bingo hall wrestling.

It's almost like the venue bookers don't understand how British crowds sound and try to find a venue to bring out the best in them.

>>2665210
Is he trying to get over by looking like he's having a seizure on a rug?
>>
>>2665217
JR wasn't there. They showed him at the beginning but it was a bad greenscreen job.
>>
>>2665222
He's doing the commentary with some beta sounding guy
>>
>>2665228
Yeah, I think they did it in studio after. I didn't think it looked bad to watch, but it was a small crowd, yeah. The other guy is Nigel McGuinness aka Desmond Wolfe

I liked the matches. Bate vs. Andrews was great.
>>
>>2665231
I doubt there's even 1,000 people there. They dimmed the lights to try and hide how empty it is but there's clearly no one more than 3 seats deep.
>>
>>2665237
It goes deep on the one side you see on camera all the time, but when they pan around the other three sides are about three rows deep, yeah.

I went to a WWF show (I'm old) and there were like two dozen people there max. It was a D-level show, it was really bad. They were in a fairly big place (hockey games, etc.). Main event was Young Stallions vs. The Bolsheviks.
>>
>>2665243
I can't figure out the UK and wrestling. It appears to be the 3rd country behind US and Japan but then.. this. TNA gets bigger draws than the WWE does here now.
>>
>>2665248
They had a small studio, I don't know if they even cared about trying to get a big crowd until they establish the brand and have a weekly show and such. They had no names there either to draw in the casual fans.
>>
>>2665254
I remember in the attitude era they did a UK PPV. At that point the UK was getting all the US PPVs for free but had to pay for that one. I recall it doing pretty well too.
>>
>>2665259
I think WWE does well with their UK tours. The UK brand is different though, there are no main roster stars there. They are trying to make a brand of just UK wrestlers.

I don't quite understand it, or the Cruiserweight division, other than to have more variety and more wrestling. Some think they are trying to put smaller companies out of business, but I don't know.
>>
>>2665265
They lost their stream is the problem, they've always been the lake that all the territories ran into. TNA used to scout the UK and pick up talent here and then ship it to the US. These days the biggest draw the WWE has from the UK is Paige who only got into wrestling because it was her brother's dream and she tagged along
>>
>>2665268
Were you expecting them to do it like a Raw taping? Just because it has the WWE name on it, that wouldn't draw a big crowd with the UK roster. Look at the taping results, that's who wrestled there. Nobody knows any of those guys unless you are a hardcore wrestling fan.
>>
>>2665281
I would expect them to at least throw in a couple of mid carders from the states to give something a pull. with a crowd that size you're only going to get over if your related to half of them
>>
>>2665297
I get what you are thinking. But they want it to be it's own brand (like NXT) which means small crowds, smaller appeal, etc. NXT only draws a few hundred people to it's house shows too.

I think it's more about developing talent and creating recognition for upcoming wrestlers.
>>
>>2663817
>Fosters can
Dropped
>>
>>2665248
>>2665254
Apparently HHH wanted it to be small. I don't get it either really, but it was done on purpose. Source: A guy I know that was running the event. You can probably see him every now and then in the background.
>>
>>2664062
>comparing UFC to fake fighting

lmao
>>
>>2663883

No, it's not you mong, I was at the show.

You've literally been worked by WWE's production team.
>>
>Flabby
>Hipster
>Moveset is nothing but famous Japanese moves

Trent Seven is fucking awful.
>>
>>2665298
Yeah, Im not that guy, but I agree with you. Every single competitor in the UK division is really young, so they will have a lot of mid carders (And some main eventers, I'd bet for Dunne, Bate and Seven) in five years or so, when we could expect a little drough of stars
>>
>>2663984
TJ is a wanka, TJ is a wanka, nah-na-na-na-hey!
>so on so forth
>>
This show sucked. A few good spots but no good matches.
>>
>>2663817
I keep mixing this guy up with Gallagher. All UK/Ireland flippyshit no-dime manlets look the same to me
>>
>>2663817
That dong doe
>>
>>2663817
>Tyler thinks Brooke Tessmacher has the best ass in wrestling

do you agree, /asp/? it's on his twitter
>>
>>2667868
Because their entire gimmick is "le British gentleman". It's shallow and doesn't work
>>
Pete Dunne is thicc af
