He kind of oversmokes his speeches, because when you hear him in the ring he's a lot more direct, it's a bit off an odd conflict

I'm a fan of Kenny, but he's not a good promo. He comes across as stiff and unnatural, or over the top and silly. No in between.

He's charismatic in the ring but he's pretty bad on the mic. The Marty Scurll promo from ROH he did should show how bad he is.

He had a taped promo played and still fucked it up.

Not hating on anyone, but most of the promos that people consider the greatest were just fucking nonsense when you really listen to them. 3/4 of those promos is just fancy words and nonsense, and the rest has actual meaning.
Even half of a Heyman promo consists of adjectives about someone and someone else.

You have to remember that he's not talking to you; he's acting for the Japanese crowd. He can just say whatever the hell he wants and it doesn't have to make sense because they wouldn't understand it anyway. All he has to do is overact everything so he comes across as a crazy man.

His mic skills are great when you take them for what they're for. Over the top cheese.

He sounds like an Anime villain 100% of the time, which is entertaining but not engaging if you're not in on the joke.
