Who else here is excited and happily anticipating the imminent demise of this giant cancer of a company? Everywhere you go, you see people celebrating these low ratings, who here can't wait to see the USA network contract negotiations in 2019? What a time to be alive. We're watching the Titanic sink before our very eyes, boy. Let's enjoy every last second of it.
>>
>>2657724
Theyre still going to get a good contract because they still draw big ratings comparatively to other shows.
>>
>>2657724
What you are witnessing is the inexorable death of old media. WWE has a parachute in the form of its online streaming network.
>>
WWE is too big to fail
>>
The USA channel has nothing else. WWE is shit, but it's live shit. If Nascar can get a sweet tv deal (despite similar troubles), they will be fine.

But the next big sports tv deal to come is the UFC. If the tv companies actually grow some balls and don't pay more while getting less, THEN the E is in some deep shit.
>>
>You will live to see the WWE shrink enough to have regional promotions become the most popular outlet for wrestling again

>>2657768
While cable and TV are down, WWE is down at a far greater clip, faster than ever. The network, if you calculate it at 1.9m subscribers worldwide only calculates to about 228m a year. They can't expect to increase that much by putting say Smackdown or Raw on it, if anything the lack of a mainstream outlet might get people to cancel.

What's happening is the UFC has killed any chance of the casual adult fan ever watching wrestling again. No matter how good the WWE product is, it's never going to have the same appeal as UFC where there is an actual fight at the end of the story line. Period. So naturally WWE went for kids but increasingly kids don't watch TV, they watch Youtube clips of stuff, tablet games, and video games. Expecting kids to watch the 10+ hours of content weekly WWE shits out or even just a single 3 hour Raw is laughable.

So now the WWE is increasingly looking at the hardcore market (smarks), you see this in bringing in indie guys, etc.. I mean if you said 5 years ago AJ Styles would be one of the most over guys in the WWE and that a bunch of smaller indie guys would be pushed you'd be laughed at. They've totally realized the Network is going to rely on this type of fan.

However internet streaming is a lot easier to do now, and because of that promotions like New Japan, ROH, etc can get their shit out without having a huge TV deal. This could lead to more indie shows doing streams (for cheap or free) and probably getting more hardcore fans to come to local shows, because wrestling is better live. This could even bring back the regional promotion and hell you could even have a co-op style where there is a super card between them for a better house/buy rate.

Ufc and wwe aren't competing with each other you dweeb

Mma killed boxing not pro wrestling, shit tier booking and writing killed wwe
>>
>>2657820
Vince can deny it all he wants but he still doesn't want his guys going down the MMA route. Why? Because it's the competition. He has admitted to stockholders they share the same audience. When UFC buys go up, it hurts the WWE, Meltzer has noted this for years.
>>
>>2657820
Go to a bar (if they let you in, underaged drone) that shows UFC PPVs and that's the same type of person that watched wrestling during the attitude era. That same buzz people talked about at the water cooler/bar/etc about that McGregor knockout is what people talked about with Raw or Austin. The WWE or wrestling will never get that shit again, because the UFC does booking and drama decently enough and the payoff is actual a fucking real sport instead of worked shit.

You could have the best fucking product in the world, best booking, talent hitting on all cylinders, and WWE's ratings would likely not even tick up consistently. It's just the truth. Wrestling has always been a niche form of entertainment, something to bring your family of four to for a few bucks, like a minor league baseball team. Hulkamania changed that and the Attitude Era happened at the right time and the right place. Both of them were lightning in a bottle and wrestling will never be that relevant again, we've seen the slow and steady contraction of viewers since and you could argue that most of that product was better than the Attitude Era.
>>
>WWE
>die
Haha, no. WWE almost died once before, and you know what happened, right? We got the greatest era in pro wrestling of all time.

Vince has plan A's, B's, C's, all the way down to Z's, in his back pocket, ready to pull out at a moment's notice. The problem is Vince likes to play it safe until his back is against the rope, so we haven't seen most of what he has up his sleeve. But there is no evidence to suggest that if the numbers keep dropping, he won't implement one of those plans.
>>
What do you expect? The product is so shit right now. This won't lead to the death of WWE, what this will lead to is another attitude era-type reboot.
>>
>>2657812
Competition and product weakness are much less important to the financealss of the business than complete ownership of the production and supply chain. With the network, WWE is not just a virtual monopoly, but is vertically integrated - controlling (and profiting from) every single stage of the production and distribution of wrestling.
>>
>>2657812
WWE went for kids before UFC got big.

They did it, because that's what corporate sponsors asked. This is also why the company has become incredibly politically correct, includes diversity quotas, feminism, breast cancer and all that crap. It has nothing to do with UFC. They went with corporate culture because potential viewership is apparently more important than actual viewership.
>>
>>2657851
Jesus stop kissing his ass. It's not like he's ever going to hire you for that.

The company sucks and the US viewership is crumbling. They barely compensate this by expanding in India.
>>
>>2657762
They got lowballed on their last deal and that was before the Reigns megapush costing over 1.1 MILLION viewers.

>>2657768
>putting all your content behind a paywall

>>2657851
>>2657852
Vince had to be dragged kicking-and-screaming into Attitude.
>>
MMA won't kill WWE, because MMA won't be able to consistently produce stars that don't get knocked out.

WWE's problems are of their own creation. They've lost 1.2 million viewers in the last 3 years. MMA wasn't invented 3 years ago.
>>
>Push Roman
>Ratings crater

Hmmm........
>>
>>2657724
They really have to push Roman more! He is so over and gets good reactions, he can save the company!
>>
>>2658386
based big dog working the smarks so hard that they stop watching

opening up space and once he beats brock, the casuals will flood in
>>
>>2658365
>Vince had to be dragged kicking-and-screaming into Attitude.

Nice meme
>>
>>2658372
>MMA can't produce stars that don't get knocked out

Better than WWE who can't produce stars period. The ME scene for Mania hasn't changed in over ten fucking years.
>>
>>2657724
Here senpai. cant wait till Vince loses his place atop the mountain.
>>
>>2657724
wait, are you telling me that bringing in a bunch of indiefags and trying to appease pretentious smarks doesn't translate to ratings?
>>
>>2657724
When WWE dies, wrestling can finally be put to rest.
>>
>>2657770
No such thing as too big to fail.
>>
WWE is failing because it's now made by people who have no connection to wrestling but what they saw on TV. The writers grew up watching wrestling on TV and remember all the cool stuff they did so they write that, and then more of that, then a bit more of that. They're writing a fanfiction instead of their own story.
>>
wrestling in USA dies with WWE

get a clue
>>
>>2658638
>Indiefags

Currently pushed wrestlers :
Baron "tall but bland and shit" Corbin
Brown "Pretty good actually" Strongman
Roman "Shit look, worse wrestling" Reigns
Jinder "Take ALL the roids" Mahal
Randy "Soporific" Orton

Yeah man, those indie midgets are everywhere.
>>
>>2657770
the same thing was said about wcw kek
>>
>>2658399
Imagine being this contrarian/delusional.
>>
>>2658386
Roman is part of a bigger problem, the main event scene lacking any natural drawing power is a big reason why every episode has that dull feeling you can't put your finger on. It ties into the WWE not letting anyone get them selves over, people want a real connection.

Although tbf to you, about a year a ago I knew a few casual viewers who would switch the channel when THE BIG DOG's music hits and often forgot to switch back.
>>
WWE could make Hornswoggle the face of the company for five years and at the end of it, they'd still be the biggest wrestling company on earth by magnitudes.

Your indies will never take over.
>>
>>2657724
It'll be fun watching wrestling die. At least fat smarks will have nothing to complain about anymore.
>>
>FStalker going on a rampage again
NO LIFE
>>
Many wrestlers died or committed suicide because WWE killed their careers by either booking them badly or just letting them slip away.

Now these talentless bores are getting pushes all over. Not only that, the WWE is a stifling, toxic and typically corporate place to work at.

They deserve what's coming.
>>
>>2657724
it must suck being this pathetic of a person
