Russo is good in doses, and overall, I think he CAN be good. Problem is, he shouldn't have too much say like he did in WCW/TNA. However, I do think the "Vince filter" thing is dumb. We've all been watching the show over the past few years and it is 100% the Vince McMahon show and I don't see many people praising it. Vince is doing the same thing now that he did in the early 90's/mid 90's that caused a sharp decline. If the so called Vince filter was so strong, why are more and more people not watching year after year? That's not saying it was all Russo, cause it certainly wasn't, but Vince has gotten lucky that his biggest competition shot themselves in the foot one too many times. Again, he's by no means perfect, and I wish he'd own up to the shit he did in mid 2000s WCW, but even still, I think he did some good. Pushing really hard for younger talents, trying to get Hogan to fuck off etc.
Still, I'll take Russo over Cornette. I think Corny is a bitter, crazy old man who takes wrestling way too seriously and has issues in general. Remember Smoky Mountain Wrestling and how quick that bombed. Remember his ROH stint that was universally panned? Regardless of how you feel about Russo, I think his level of hatred for the guy is pure lunacy.
