Thoughts?
>>
Obviously not in order because Eddie was by far the worst on every metric
>>
>>2643266
They have them all correct, just in the wrong order imo.

1. Undertaker - lowest drawing WM in history, killed ratings/buyrates 50 times over, I could go into more detail but most of you already know why he's no.1
2. Punk - Buyrates and ratings fell so hard that Cena vs Laurinitis had to main event a PPV because they were that desperate. Business has been falling ever since.
3. Sid - Lowest drawing champion in history
4. HBK - nearly killed the wwf
5. Diesel - same as hbk
6. Bret - same as hbk
7. Miz - falling buyrates, ratings and killed the belt forever
8. JBL - ratings and buyrates fell like a stone
9. Benoit - same as JBL
10. Eddie - same as JBL
>>
>>2643272
That would be Bret
>>
>>2643266

Pretty interesting

Although some of the explanations seem a bit far fetched. So Bret was to small to be a believable champion and they gave it die Nash...who then draw even worse?!

CM Punk being a bad draw also answers the question, why he never main evented Mania and why Bryan only did it in a triple threat.
>>

> Amazingly he held the title until Summerslam of that year, despite business arrowing down quicker than a lead weight. The Summerslam buyrate came in at 177,000 buys, again down from the previous year.

Summerslam 1997 was massivley up from last year the idiot who wrote the article looked at King of The Ring
>>

I don't even know why people post shit from cuckculture. How many times does their revisionist history have to be pointed out?
>>
CM Punk being on that list isn't really fair considering he wasn't even main eventing and the ratings and buys drop was because of Cena/Big Show/Ace main eventing instead
>>
>>2643279
>ratings fell so hard that Cena vs Laurinitis had to main event a PPV
Fuck it anon I had purged this from my memory, feels like a long time ago

Honestly, Miz was the absolute lowest point for the WWE. Putting your fucking belt on a reality show guy is David Arquette-esque.

At least no dime drawing midgets like Eddie and Benoit were seen as tough guys.

Because there are no real PPVs anymore and the drawing power atm has hardly any bearing on the finances of the company.

Which is probably one of the reason, why the product mostly sucks. They have no direct incentive to actually make it better so more people would want to watch it.

WHY. DO. ANY. OF. YOU. CARE??!

None of you are in the business. I'm pretty sure none of you have actual stock in the WWE. Why are there so many threads on this board obsessing over which wrestlers made the industry the most money? It's seriously none of yalls business and at the end of the day, none of you have any idea what you're talking about.

Are you people seriously going to discredit the talents of people like Eddie, Benoit, Hart and HBK because they happened to be on top during a down period? Ridiculous.
>>

>>
>>2644554
Hogan wasn't drawing until Outsiders came. Try listening to WCW booker Kevin Sullivan for once in your life. Outsiders helped Hogan on promos, what to wear, convinced him to do jobs etc. all the while THEY were booking nWo. Sullivan says Outsiders could have killed off Hogan and made him look stupid but instead accepted him with open arms. He went from wearing cowboy boots to sneakers and bandanas to baseball caps. Nash/Hall want could've made Hogan look stupid if they wanted. It took Hogan at least 6 months to not need Outsiders cool factor.
>>

Bret more iconic than Bruno & Macho? sit down & shut up.
>>
>>2643266
The real truth is there are very few actual true draws in wrestling that can make a wrestling company money. You can probably count them on two hands and won't have to go over 10.
>>
>>2643643
When Benoit won the World Heavyweight Title it was far more prestigious than what became of it years later. Arguably it was THE TITLE even thanks to HHH and his reign of terror.

In all seriousness here, I think Hogan was the most consistent big draw wrestling has ever seen. I guess you have Bruno to but wrestling wasn't as mainstream with him.

Anybody outside of Hogan never consistently drew dimes for as long as he did and as much as he did. Yes Austin and Rock drew dimes but their time at the top wasn't nearly as long. Which is the point I am getting at here with Hogan.

Also with Austin who knows how long it could have lasted. His appeal was always going to decline eventually. He and Vince made each other. Without Vince Austin wouldn't have been as huge. Not even close. WWE wouldn't even be alive anymore. So Vince gets more of the credit than anything here.

With Rock its tougher to say. Him being in Hollywood obviously is a great perk for his drawing power but he never stays long enough for us to truly know. Were ratings when he came back and had his last title run even that great? I don't recall it being great actually.

Fact is, nobody is a better draw than based Kogan. NOBODY!

> in my opinion diesel's anti establishmentarianism gimmick
> in my opinion

So basically wolfcuc got this from IYH 6 being the only one not headlined by bret
Hmmm
>>
The question is anyway, if you can really blame or praise the champion for everything.

If the champion is good, but all the rest of the program is shit, you won't see stellar buy rates either.

And if the champ is shit, but the rest of the program is really good, you probably won't see buy rates that are too bad either.
>>
>>2645218
Can you not read? he provides numbers with sources to back up his opinion & then concluded it by saying:

The common denominator of...

- big houses being drawn in January 1996
- 3/15 in Hartford, CT being the best house except for WrestleMania in the Civic Center since 1990
- 3/16 in Landover, MD being the most dollars for a regular house show in the U.S. Air Arena since 1990
- record setting MSG shows on 3/17 & 5/19
- two best performing In Your House PPV's of 1996

...is they were all headlined by Diesel.

If you're going to try and discredit Wolfcuc at least bring some evidence to table to prove him wrong. I don't like the guy but he makes you look like an idiot.
>>
>>2645230
also depends what storyline they give the champ. you could have made fucking tajiri champ and replaced the rock with him in the vince/rock/stone cold/angle storylines and he would have drew because that storyline was so good

most of the shit draws had no storyline to work with
>>
>>2645233
Also all headlined by bret except the second highest IYH

How is that reading gimmick of yours coming along lad?
>>
>>2645241
Again can you not read? As Wolfy said

“Diesel's final show at MSG, a cage main event against HBK on May 19, 1996 drew 18,800 (16,564 paying $319,411) - first time in 11 years that WWF had two straight MSG sellouts & first indoor non-PPV house in WWF history to top $300,000.” - Dave Meltzer [WON - 27th May 1996]

So no not just second highest IYH

Wrestlemania 96 headlined by Bret vs. HBK also drew lower than Wrestlemania 95 headlined by Diesel/HBK and Taylor/Bigelow
