Post finishers that became regular moves. I will start with the obvious one.
>a regular move that wasn't a finisher until 1993
Actually watch a Rockers match you underage shit

>>2625789
Big Match Miz.
>>2625780
Vertical suplex. Seriously.
The irish whip was once a finisher
Basically most wrestling moves.
>>2626570
>people used to love this shit
What happened?
>>2626587
It killed some necks or something...
DDT
>>2626587
People figured out it's mostly the other guy doing the move.
Also, Petey Williams became a bargain basement Scott Steiner a la the Black Machismo gimmick.
>>2626592
Black Machismo was Jay Lethal doimg a Macho Man impression.
Williams became Little Petey Pump.
Legdrop

Any fucking driver Misawa did
>>2626526
Was it autism?
>We will never see a wrestler use a chop, a dropkick, or a suplex as their finish
Neat.
>>2626668
Gentleman Jack uses a corner dropkick as his finisher and Tozawa uses a german suplex for is finisher (I think)
>>2627591
Tozawas german suplex is the best ive ever seen
WWE should allow people to sometimes win after regular moves. finishers should be special things.
I kinda dislike the concept of finishers. I mean, nothing wrong with a signature move because that's marketable and I get that, but not every match needs to end with a finisher.
>>2626574
I'm glad I wasn't watching during that era
>HE THREW HIM INTO THE ROPES HE THREW HIM INTO THE ROPES BAH GOLLY HE'S FINISHED
>>2627608
>i don't know how pro wrestling works: the post
Back to plebbit with that shit-tier opinion
>>2627606
>>2627608
Only time you get this is from rollups, which dissapoints me. I guess people like to see those big ol' flashy moves though. It'd be nice if they had more special things that only came out once in a blue moon.
Weirds me out sometimes actually because my local promotion typically has matches end on superplexes or anything from the rope.
>>2627608
If it's not a finisher it's ALWAYS a fucking roll up or small cradle. Those two pins are as powerful as Spear+Jackhammer.
>>2627621
You realize wrestling didn't always have finishing moves? 18+
The lion sault
Walls of Jericho
Figure 4 Leglock
>>2627591
I'm referring to standing dropkicks, and front/normal suplexes
>>2626516
A DDT looking good depends on how well the other guy sells it. RVD sells DDT's like a champ.
>>2626610
I liked Black Machismo.
>>2627704
Who was the Jannetty?
>>2627704
....is that BBD and the Usos?
>>2626668
We will in the women's division.
>>2627608
The only thing I don't like is how often they slip out or reverse the other guys finisher. Literally 15 attempts before they get it sometimes. Why don't they reverse every move all match every match like 2k15?
>>2626678
Saved
>>2627743
I liked Little Petey Pump
Fisherman suplex (Perfectplex)
Diving splash
Diving elbow drop
Swinging neckbreaker
>>2626668
Did Seth know?
>>2627606
Are you serious? At this point any semi-high profile match (anything on PPV or a title/bigger match on TV) has at least one kickout of a finisher. The bigger matches will generally have 2-3. They all repeat the same "OMG HE KICKED OUT WTF" face as if it didn't happen 10 times previously in the previous few matches. The WWE has to stop making finishers basically worthless before making regular moves/submissions do shit. I wonder if they've past the point where that's even possible though.
>>2626668
>great khali's was a chop to the head
>gentleman jack corner dropkick
>perfectplex
>>2625780
A drop kick used to be a match ending 10 count KO.
>>2626668
>suplex
watch puroesu faggot
>>2625799
>Brock kicks out by flinging Eddie off.
When the hell was a regular standing dropkick a finisher? I saw a RikidÅzan match from the '50s, and I saw 3 dropkicks in a row, just thrown out like normal strikes.
As for the vertical suplex, I think I remember seeing Superstar Billy Graham match with a vertical suplex finish. Those were the days when it was still called a "soo-PLAY"
