I could see AJ staying team WWE as a heel with the notion of "why would I want to go back to wrestling in bingo halls?" and saying everywhere he worked for before was just a stepping stone to the real show: the WWE.

The last step: CM Punk returns to the WWE and competes in the main event of Wrestlemania.

Wrestling is all about building to an angle. "What is the best possible match we can imagine?" is the question you need to ask, and then you need to build towards it. You need to book mini-angles that build to bigger angles to eventually arrive at the blow-off moment.

The return of CM Punk is one such moment to build towards.

A sub-blow-off is Daniel Bryan wrestling in the secondary main event against Shinsuke Nakamura. The idea of the ROH invasion is to have a Wrestlemania event which serves as the "finale" to the 2000s era of wrestlers and allows the next generation to begin to dream.

When happens in the time between the beginning and the blow-off? Many things.

The leader of the ROH faction, most likely Seth, announces they are going to take over the WWE?

How? Triple H asks. How exactly do you bunch of skinny fat losers plan to do that?

It's simple. They will win matches. They will win lots of matches. And win them cleanly in the ROH. With ease, he might add, since much of the WWE roster is made up of jokes. WWE will be embarrassed. By winning match after match and capturing world titles the ROH stable will gain political sway in the WWE until such time as Vince will have to recognize them as the future of wrestling and redesign WWE in their image.

Each ROH wrestler begins to go on an unprecedented win streak that eventually begins to break down as some WWE wrestlers begin to take themselves more seriously and demonstrate WWE originals can wrestle too when something is on the line.

At this time also the WWE has the opportunity to bring in some wreslters who would not fit the typical WWE mould, such as the Briscoe Brothers. They win the RAW or Smackdown tag titles and go on to dominate the division for a long time before suitable heroes, likely American Alpha, defeat them.

Might I add this entire time ROH continues to put on its own shows and there are occasional cross-overs, including John Cena himself having a run as ROH World Champion.

>suddenly all the RoH guys on the Roster start attacking Haitch, Lesnar, and the rest of the WWE guys
>rest of the RoH roster comes out and they start beating everyone up
>Lesnar is fairing well, but Hamen gets hurt, so he carries him out of the area through the crowd
>Raw ends with Seth standing in the ring victorious

>Haitch has a lot of security and the roster surrounding him this time
>gives promo about everything being fine
>goes back to the lockerroom without a hitch
>main event of that night
>Lesnar is having a rematch with whoever he fought at Money in the Bank
>it's getting close to the end of the match
>a bunch of people from RoH start attacking both of them
>Seth comes out and cashes in

>he's facing Haitch in a cell match
>Haitch hits him in the head with a hammer
>looks like he's going to win
>RoH guys come out and knock out Haitch, and put Seth on top of him so he wins

It's a PPV, called Sunday Night Heat: One Night Stand.

In the vein of classic Sunday Night Heat, some midcarders who are currently engaged in a storyline come out and squash a few no-name jobbers, just so the commentators can promo their ongoing feud with another superstar throughout the match.

The RoH wrestlers are the jobbers who come out, eat the pin, and are never seen or heard of again.
