It was proven in this article that google shop searches correlates quite closely to merch sales. At the turn of the year Roman was ahead of everyone except Cena, but interest in him was declining and AJ was rising.

Looking back at google shop searches again AJ outsold Roman handily in the run up to Christmas and has been slightly ahead ever since.

Heel AJ is now officially a bigger merchandise draw than Roman Reigns.

i don't know the value of google shopping results but this is false. Wweshop also doesn't carry Mattel figures, and there are items wweshop stops selling that people continue to look for. some wrestlers have shirts and other items exclusive to their stores eg Hot Topic only shirts, Paige and Bellas having Tilly's only shirts
