Edge isn't really 1 bump from paralysis. It's like D-Bry, he's not hurt enough to not be able to clear physical, but WWE don't want them working anymore since they're a liability. Difference is that Edge took this opportunity to retire after a fulfilling 20 year career while Bryan wanted to keep going.

Angle is probably in the same spot. He probably could wrestle in some capacity, but knowing how unpredictable he can get, they don't want him to bust out a shooting star press on a whim and die live on TV. Kurt probably wants to die in the ring, but WWE sure fucking don't.
