Didn't technically "kill" her., but he could have saved her if he would have called 911 as soon as he saw something was very wrong with her. but, because he was worried about his estranged wife finding out that he was shacked up with Liz, he hesitated, and she paid the price with her life. To be fair though, Liz was pretty much a waste of a life at that point anyways.
