If all Meltzer said was that Nakamura is broken and will not be godtier and that they're making a mistake waiting this long to debut him, then he's right and said nothing wrong. Nakamura is 40 years old, he's only realistically gonna be in a main event position within the next few years. He's old and not at the top of his game like back in 2008, but he can still pull out excellent matches in a big PPV with a decent opponent.

Not really. That was the same age Shawn Michaels was when he returned to wrestling in 2002, and many people consider his second run to be the best years of his WWE career. Undertaker was also 37 in 2002. Bret Hart was 40 when the Montreal Screwjob happened. Brock Lesnar is 39 now.

Unless you get rocked by a severe injury, you still have plenty of wrestling years left in you at the age of 37.

I'm gonna have to disagree. At Nakamura's age, HBK came back after sustaining a potentially career-killing injury that he took 4 years to recover from. The years between his return and retirement were his peak years and his body was in a worse condition than Naka's is now.

But that's just talking in hypothetical, so you could be right in that he's not at his best anymore. But even if he's past his peak, so is AJ and he can still wrestle circles around literally everybody on the roster.
