The gimmick didn't even flop. Vaudvillains were getting crow reactions for the month they were pushed. The Time Machine segment was probably the most memorable New Day skit from last year. Put a mic in their hand and the gimmick fades away to reveal two of the better talkers in the whole company. They just stopped putting them on TV despite getting crowd reactions and they never used them for anything serious again.
