So in short. The gimmick is great because you're not supposed to take it seriously. Think of it as a complete 180 to the undertaker who you must take seriously in order to enjoy. Broken Matt is a somewhat cartoony Machiavellian bad guy(although he's 100 times better as a face) that no one takes seriously IN KEYFABE. It's important to know that people don't take him seriously in keyfabe. He's very a much a "youtube generation" wrestler.
