The USA has WWE (and for a while WCW). Mexico has AAA and CMLL. Japan has NJPW (and for awhile a relevant AJPW). Canada is known for being the home country of some of the world's greatest wrestlers, but how come they've never had a large national wrestling promotion like the US, Mexico and Japan?
The Mountie has one but apparently he's a total autist about it.

Canada had Stampede Wrestling. WWF/E saw them as a threat and bought them out right away.
Because Canadaetty never drew a dime while america break kid drew all the dimes and buried the higher power (Britain)

But Stampede was regional.

Because WWE happened. Simple as that.
>Yfw the Canadian championship belt has A FUCKING LEAF on it

Canada is too geographically large. We had several territories instead.
Japan and Mexico are small countries compared to Canada. They also speak a different native language than the US and have very different cultures.
Canadians speak English and have similar culture/history. So, we just watch WWE as our big national promotion. WWE kinda covers Canada anyways.
Aside from USA, Japan, Mexico and the UK, what are other countries were there is some sort Pro Wrestling scene? I know only of Puerto Rico having one.

Puerto Rico had 2-3 the big one Carlitos dad owns and another one that savio vega ran
America, mexico, and japan are the main wrestling countries that have continued wrestling and have their own styles and traditions.
British wrestling was a thing, sort of died out, then has sort of come back again recently in indie form.
There are a lot of great wrestlers from canada but it never gets brought up when people talk wrestling as having some sort of unique scene.
