If this report is actually true, then Steph is correct here.

The last thing WWE wants is to bring more attention to the story, which firing Paige would do. Legally she can't do shit, but she could still hurt the company by painting them in a bad light. She could play the "victim" and "woman" card here which would get the attention of all the leftist news people. Vince would be completely attacked and painted as a "bully."

The solution to this mess is to try to bury the incident and hope that it just eventually goes away. The best way to do that would be to just keep her on the payroll, so she can't go anywhere else, but keep her off TV.
