Is it always has to end in a match.

What else would happen on a wrestling show?

>pro wrestling
>having stories that don't involve pro wrestling
Do you see how this does not work?

The cm punk pipe bomb story didnt end in any match :)
A guy has been using the gimmick of an undead western mortician for over 25 years in pro wrestling, solving all his feuds - good or bad - in wrestling matches and it's been fine.
In fact, 'Taker was at his worst during that biker phase when they tried to normalise him somewhat.
This is true but with good writing you can make up for it. I think the problem comes more from the fact that the show never ends so there is never satisfying conclusions to a character's arc. Wrestlers just retire or get injured and if they're lucky deliver a retirement speech if not they're just never mentioned again(Tyson Kidd)
Its just unfortunate that they need stars to draw people to the arena and they can only invest the energy into making stars out of people they will get good mileage out of.
Damien Mizdow was one of the last storylines I felt had a huge payoff and the night after he was one of the biggest stars in the building but rather then having that be the conclusion he sat around for another long while as Macho Mandow etc.
