No,Stone Cold was a shitty caricature with Dibiase and The Rock was a shitty shonen anime protagonist. They suffered through the bad to find something that clicked and they found those because they had a time to figure it out without their time being bogged down by past their prime part timers.

Imagine if they ran the way they did now, pushing new talent aside for old guys. There wouldn't have been any of the draws you speak of.

That's why nobody draws now, they get a short leash to try to get over before they drag out the fossils and cut into their time. Who knows who's one promo or turn away from doing something
