Stripped two teeth off my spur gear in a v3, bought some SHS 18:1 and fitted them and shimmed them. Fitted it all together and the piston still sounds loud and the gun sometimes throws 3-5 BBS out at about 2 yards (same symptom that occurred before spur gear broke) any other things it could be?

If the piston makes a lot of noise, you have either way too short barrel for the cylinder or you're leaking air. Probably the latter if your hop up bucking lets more than a single bb in the chamber.

I got an issue with my 1911.At random intervals, the slide will lock in a certain way, causing all the gas to blow out the top. I tried disassembling the piston and cleaning everything, but it didn't do too much.

post a photo of the gas port on the piston. Your problem is either with the position / orientation of that divider, or a caused by the slide jamming aianst the hammer on the way forward. Its not likely the latter, as the gas cycle would be complete at that point.

I have a similar problem with my luger, but im sure its because I fucked the piston right up. Also that gun uses a mechanism that was designed for steel, not zinc-aluminum alloy

No, I've been playing for about 10 years and never bothered making a kit. I almost got into making replica or lookalike kits but they were always too impractical for my play style. I always end up looking like a renegade fighter or PMC anyhow since I mix and match whatever works, and whatever is on hand.

Does anyone actually like cqb anymore? when i first started playing airsoft "officially" in late 2011, it was at a cqb field. the whole scene just seemed to be better back then.

cqb is a joke now, and the outdoor scene just seems to be all "milsim" cosplay faggots that do more beating up on smaller kids than they do actually playing and proving anything? its probably just around here on the east coast.

It's built so claustrophobicly that all there is to do is clear small rooms. No halls, no open spaces. Luckily a new indoor field opened and it's designed so much better. It's important to remember that Airsoft is still a baby of a sport. It reminds me of paintball's "ag" phase. The sport was littered with try hard kiddies who scared off a lot of noobs and almost poisoned the sport. Eventually as the players grew up and matures so did paintball. Airsoft will experience the same thing and may in fact be going through it right now. My CQB field's average age is probably 16. A lot of high school kids and a few of us older guys who are now done with school and have steady income plus a smattering of current and ex military. I've never seen a fight or argument at the field. Everyone is relatively mature but no matter where you are you are bound to run into that one troubled kid who has anger and control issues who ruins things for everyone.

It's not dying. What your seeing is the aftermath of the COD kiddies. Basically all the little kids wanted to go play call of duty in real life. This caused a surge in demand for Airsoft guns and equipment. What happened next was some very poor decision making by some industry leaders. They saw this boom and thought it would last forever so they bought huge quantities of stuff that they would never end up being able to sell. To rid themselves of the now unwanted inventory prices started getting slashed. Businesses started getting cut throat with their competition and drove margins down making it harder for new companies to open and harder for existing shops to stay in business. The industry's poor business leadership is largely to blame for the decline in Airsoft in combination with the COD craze coming to an end and wide spread anti-gun sentiment in the liberal population and media.

Now here is why Airsoft will survive and succeed in the long term. If you've been paying any attention to paintball you know there has been a meteoric rise in demand for milsim markers. This proves that the demand for a projectile based sport based on realistic looking weapons exists. One problem with paintball is that it is expensive. In Airsoft $350 buys you a top tier gun like a krytac. In paintball $350 buys you an entry level electro marker without a tank or hopper. Paintballs themselves are also very expensive, about $50-$60 a case. That makes Airsoft ammo a fraction of the price, lowering the cost of playing even further. Third, no mess. Airsoft doesn't smear me in greasy paint either. One last thing about paintball that points to Airsoft taking over. Speedball is dying and a large chunk of paintballers are going back to woodsball, playing the same fields as airsofters. Where Airsoft is at a disadvantage is it's lack of central authority. Airsoft has no governing body setting standards and regulations. Airsoft needs to provide a more consistent experience.

i remember when i first started, a marui was like $280-$380 in some cases. now, a full metal cyma that shoots harder and just as far is $250 tops.
