Meming aside, NJPW used to be huge till Inoki basically killed them dead in the early to mid 2000's.
Still, their peak was the 80's, though the 90's did huge business and the nWo was really over there too. Under nWo Japan that is.
Nowadays, they're fine. Not great, but not almost dead like they were around 2004.
