So this Hardy thing has me thinking: why the fuck do wreslting promotions ACTUALLY let their champions keep the belts outside of an actual wreslting event? I would think they'd take them back as soon as the champ got backstage, just to avoid shit like a wrestler taking it to another promotion to fuck with it.

What does it matter when there are 20 fat neck beards with Hugger shirts in the crowd with the exact same belt

wrestling is already an extremely unrewarding career in terms of money/fame you get out of it vs work/time/money/risk you put into it (unless you're absolute top card like Cena or Lesnar)
they let the champions have their little toys to make them feel better
tradition probably
You are extremely fucking stupid. every wrestler that has had a major championship in the WWE has been able to be gifted a replica by vince after his reign is over. CM Punk just recently gave his replica to Domino as a gift. its shit promotions like TNA that fucked up in this one.

This, pretty sure that the WWE learned its lesson from the Alundra Blayze incident and so should've any respectable company. If your champions aren't interested in re-signing, save a date so they can lose the titles
