>Owens kicks Jericho's ass again. Jericho refuses to fight back which only infuriates Owens more
>The weeks leading to Mania Owens tries to get Jericho to fight him, including nearly costing him the US Title
>All the while Jericho remains stalwart, he refuses to hurt his best friend.
>Mania finally comes around, and Team Chris and Kevin fight for the US Title
>Match begins and it's tense, they circle around and size each-other up
>After two minutes of fake starts and nothing, Jericho lays down
>He yells at Owens to pin him
>Owens covers, but breaks it up on his own at 2. He lifts Jericho up and hits a Pop-up Powerbomb.
>Owens stands in the corner as he waits for Jericho to get up
>He yells at him "FIGHT ME."
>"No Kevin... I love you."
>Owens superkicks Jericho and pins him for the three-count
>Owens takes the US Title, and without any fanfare, leaves the arena with his head down
>Jericho is helped to the back by some EMTs (announcers sell that Owens caught him right in the temple) with a single tear rolling down his cheek
