>Got his nickname from his wife while they were drinking tea together
Can you think of a gayer origin story for one of the most badass wrestling nicknames of all time?
>drinking tea with his wife
Why is that gay?
>>2285235
How overrated is he? Was he a good wrestler?
>>2285235
>spending quality time with your female life-partner is gay
>tfw we could have had Fang McFrost Steve Austin
>>2285235
At least it's a decent origin story for a name, who came up with fucking Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins or Dean Ambrose? More like:
> Stone Cold's wife has a better nack for coming up with names then the entire WWE creative team
> Fang McFrost
>>2285240
He was a really good wrestler before the injury
Watch his series of matches with Bret, Austin was an extremely accomplished technician
>>2285240
It's hard to overrated a guy who was the face of the company during it's peak it ratings and the only guy who can accomplish the super pop. Closest guy would be Bryan.
>He got his nickname from a britbong
>>2285235
"Fill The Kettle Up" Steve Austin is my favourite wrestler.

I actually do like dbry, for real kek
The Rock and Hogan got bigger pops though
18+
>>2285333
Yeah, but not when the Rock was a regular, only when he was a surprise and Hogan? Come on now, he got some high pitched shreaking but no outright "yay" from everyone.
>>2285335
>Hogan? Come on now, he got some high pitched shreaking but no outright "yay" from everyone.
18+, Hogan got multiple 5-10 standing ovations and people literally bowing down to him

rock got bigger pops than bryan in 00-01ish come on son
but yeah d-bry got biggest pops in last decade or so for sure
>>2285335
>Hogan? Come on now
you have to be retarded, he once got a reaction on smackdown that went so long it went through a commercial break and when they came back they were still cheering for him
Watch 2010-11 Bryan to see how over a YES-less Bryan was/would have been.

Okay, watch when Rock was Rocky Maivia and when Stone Cold was The Ringmaster.
>>2285357
great, daniel's personal whiteknight is here
>>2285356
Modern crowds like to be heard with repetitive chants, likely down to the how popular social media has gotten and the casualization of the IWC giving it a bigger population, how people like to be portrayed as important or different stems from the internet and that's why a guy like Roman who isn't terrible and didn't do much wrong gets boo'd out of the arena like he's a terrorist, we are or this is awesome chants and an above average wrestler getting chanted YES in unison.
>>2285363
The Rock and Austin brought out their own personalities into their characters and nailed it on the mic, which was their own accomplishments.
Dbry got a YES chant and grew longer hair, great accomplishment.
>>2285405
>Dbry got a YES chant and grew longer hair, great accomplishment.
Stone Cold got the worker/boss feud and shaved his hair, great accomplishment.
See I can down play people too.
>>2285413
Except Dbry didn't change much in comparison. Austin did more personally through the mic and portraying his character to get over and it worked better than Dbry.
2017 and Bryan is STILL cringe on the mic with a barebones character.

this
Fans just try and force wrestlers into the main event now just because they can. With Bryan I didn't mind too much except for when they buried batista. But when its guys like owens, slater and ellsworth, its going way too far.
WWE should just mute the crowd at this point if they want any en semblance of a coherent tv show
>>2285335
This is one of the most retarded posts in the story of /asp/, congratulations for that dubious accomplishment.
>>2285457
It looked promising for WWE and that's why they targeted that demographic with the invention of the network (they clearly knew they had a big enough Internet fanbase to spend millions on it), constant use of twitter and catering to their favorite wrestlers with a few exceptions.
Downside is they've alienated other fans that would rather see the more traditional style wrestler as champ like Cena so they toss them a bone now and then with Goldberg vs Lesnar and the occasional short title run with Cena/Roman. Causing alot of them to lose interest in the show, and going by the ratings I'd say they chose the wrong demographic to pander to.
