How does it feel knowing Lucha Underground will soon become the most readily available wrestling promotion in the US?
>>2273467
People are dropping Netflix like crazy. They won't have many subscribers soon.
>>2273480

Meme Underground fags actually believe this
>>2275716
Yeah, cause only /pol/ are boycotting them. Stupid fuck
>>2275719
Oh yeah I forgot /r/the_donald and Stormfront will make a difference too.
>>2273480
I have Netflix and I really don't give a shit about the "dear white people" thing. Don't believe everything on /pol/
>>2275491
Can you imagine having spending so much time on this website that your brain become rotten to the point that you actually believe /pol/ has any impact in anything in real life? That they are big enough to boycott a company into bankruptcy? The memes have gone too far.

I subscribe to Cornette's evaluation of LU: it's shit and an insult to wrestling, specifically lucha libre.
>>2276291
I really liked the first season, but they kinda lost me with the second one. They suddenly had to face the reality of having to tie together their concept of an episodic TV show and the reality of booking a wrestling fed. Thoughest part about this is that a certain wrestler can simply not get over with the audience despite the storyline making a big deal out of them.
But personally my biggest problem with LU was the sudden focus on Matanza, I just never bought into him as a monster heel. I'm no height mark but fuck the guy's like 5'10'' why are you booking him like some powerhouse monster? Mil Muertes was a thousand times better. Also, while I do love Rey-Rey I never liked the spotlight he was getting since his knees are hanging by a thread at this point.

This would be true if in fact they were a pro-wrestling promotion. But they're not.
They don't travel, book places to perform, and thus draw legitimate audiences. They're strictly a television program. Everything, including their small audience, is staged.
LU sucks. Watch real lucha.
>>2276377
A wrestler still needs to get over, it may be a different approach to the business but it's still the same business.
>>2276389
It's entirely a different business. They're in the television programming business. They're not a wrestling promotion. They can entirely manufacture "getting guys over" in a way WWE or any other real promotion can because there's no real crowd to reject their stories because they don't travel and perform in front of real people.
You could say ratings of the measure of whether they've "gotten guys over" but their ratings have always been shit and they remain on El Ray because Danny Trejo needs original programming.

>Thoughest part about this is that a certain wrestler can simply not get over with the audience despite the storyline making a big deal out of them.
I don't think that's happened yet though, other than Sexy Star.
>>2276433
Their crowds are about as staged as daytime talkshows. Their audience is not big at all. The production for their seasons doesn't take long. There is a massive pool of extras out there that they use to film their episodes.
>>2276453
this is the dumbest shit i've ever read
>tfw too racist to watch LU
>>2276482
Truth hurts, huh?
>>2276453
>using extras
Why would they need that when there's more people trying to get in than there's room for?
>>2276506
Because it's a prerecorded tv show not a live event promoted by a wrestling promotion?
>>2276453
anon, do you actually believe daytime talk shows have to hire a crowd? maury povich has a line around the block to get in for tapings.
>daily reminder that paternity tests and teen bootcamp are more over than roman
>>2275491
>this is what /pol/ actually believes
LOL
>>2276453
they have commercials on el rey and posts on instagram for how to obtain tickets to their tapings
