Because the WWE was afraid that there was going to be competition in the UK, after ITV announced it was going to do a full show. So rather than try to improve their product, they threw together this UK tournament so they could monopolise all the UK talent, making sure their boring shit remains ahead of anyone else trying to make headway into the market.
