I got tickets like a month ago. I usually buy LA area tickets as soon as they're announced because I've seen the prices go up quickly so many times before.

hang around outside the venue with your smartphone. check stubhub 5 minutes before showtime and you can grab some tickets really cheap for pretty much any event (i went to the rock and roll hall of fame induction on a whim last year and got tickets for 10 bucks). depending on the venue people at the ticket windows might help you print them out if the venue won't just scan your phone. if they wont scan your phone and they wont help you print the tickets then find a nearby niceish hotel. they'll often have computers with printers in the lobby for business people or find a fedex office.
