I am an amateur boxer with 7 fights so far. All 7 were wins, one by "knock-out" (he wanted to stand back up but ref wouldnt let him).
Now what i had before every match, i would go over to them, introduce myself smiling with an innocent face and tell them "lets have a good fight". And every time everyone is just so god damn aggresiv like they want to fucking murder me.
If you train hard enough you should be confident enough to not have to "stare" down your opponent and try to intimidate him.
After all i won vs all of those edglords, but i also see that shit on tv, but i dont understand why everyone can just be nice and treat it like the sport it is.
i mean its not like i will hate somebody for punching me in the ring, right?
They are trying to sell the fight, man. Casuals crave drama, since they don't know shit about boxing.
Are you european by any chance?

Just win with a shit eating grin on your face throughout the match. Way more amusing than all the nonsensical drama. Glad I compete in sports where this isn't much of an issue.

I have my first kickboxing tournament this sunday, it's light contact continuous so I don't really know what to expect. I've competed in two bjj comps and they were reasonably chill.
I'm not gonna act edgy or intimidating when I fight since that just seems silly and is delving over to mental warfare instead of truly showing your physical skills.
I'm glad in a way that I don't know the people I'm fighting with since I can actually go full out.
