Good one :))
I have always wondered about Ric Rude's role in DX. He was called "The Insurance Policy" but from what can be picked up on from shoot interviews and everything, it seems that he was much more of an Old School guy who hung with Curt Hennig and Bret and Road Warriors, etc. Seems he would not really have had too much respect for Shawn's mid-90s hijinx.
So my thought is: WHOSE insurance policy was he? Was he actually there as Vince's guy to keep Haitch and Michaels in line? Like they had a face turn angle on standby for him, and if they ever tried to expose the business like the curtain call, that Rude was there to start hooking them for real or something? You know that he could easily have taken on both of them back then.

Bret Hart and Owen Hart could wrestle, but they were as bland as wet cardboard. At least you got character out of the Attitude Era innovators. I would have watched WCW but that announce team was the shittiest thing I had, and ever will have, heard.
