our fields were doing great in 2011, 2012 and half of 2013.

once sandy hook happened, it very slowly started to drop. less younger kids started coming. older players stuck around and came in for a while. Life things like having children and such usually seemed to pull them away.

anyway, without getting too political, Im from the northeast. People here are generally antigun and very liberal. I've heard some very gun ignorant shit in terms of real guns, and airsoft while i was working for the field / shop.

long and short, sandy hook and a few other factors killed airsoft. at least where im from.

I'm from Poland - golden age of airsoft was when dollar was worth 50% of what it is worth now, this also coincided with Cyma/JG/other chinks flooding the market and suddenly you didn't need to buy Marui or expensive gear.
Lately kids seem to have grown up and it's more about bigger events, I noticed it's harder and harder to enjoy this hobby without a car and money for gas to drive further and further away.
I don't think it will die without something unexpected happening in the near future, but it will probably be less and less popular, at least here in the north.

For the time and money you spend making it somewhat decent you can buy a few AEG motors that will do the job just as well, or even better.
Hence why the AEG market didn't pick them up.
More expensive, poorly designed motors aren't worth the tradeoff for a slimmer pistol grip.

with the stock gears, motor and this spring, i was getting around 9-10 rounds a second on a 7.4v. With the 16.1's i got 10-11 rps

the M60's are cool and all, but they have major feeding issues since the box mag is held on be fabric, and the hose is exposed the bbs can get dirty / wet.

the saw has external hose as well, but since it can use an m16 mag it's not such a big deal if the ammo box shits the bed.

ahhh yes.... the pkm...... the pkm's feeding is done internally, so thats cool and all, it has a bigger box mag than the others (ill explain that issue later) and is pretty robust. It's got a few issues though.

In theory it is possible to modify the 870 stock if you just have the right tools and enough ambition. If it's the pic related CYMA models, the stock is made from actual metal so you can even weld it.

If you really want a real one, then do you know any friends who have access to CNC machine? Find CAD files of the real stock, make the math to make it right size and pay him to make it for you. That's the easiest way pretty much.
If you're a real handyman you could try making it from scratch by yourself. The stock model isn't really that complicated.

KTW stocks are literally non-existent and if you manage to find one, they cost always something about $100-200.

My first CO2 gun came in today. The manual told me to fasten the CO2 canister until I heard the sound of 'expansion of the CO2 in the magazine' but the first sound I heard from tightening it was very loud and I could feel the gas leaking from the top of the canister.

That's pretty much my problem, I'm probably gonna get a new magazine but I wanted to figure out if I messed up when installing it or if it was just a bad magazine to begin with, so if you can tell by looking at the magazine or the likeliness of either scenario that'd be awesome to know.

I always laugh when I see some dumb shit buy a cheap airsoft gun and immediately start "upgrading" it. They usually start by asking for replacement internals suggestions. It's like why, you dumb fuck? Why did you buy a gun you didn't think shot good to begin with? In theory, yes.
If you have for example M130 insides with semi inadequate stock motor, switching up to a high torque motor will reduce the possibility of wires overheating which causes minor power loss and also increases the chance of burnout of the motors coals and coil.
Hi-torque motor is also an investment if you some day decide to upgrade your insides even further.
Also, Good wiring (obviously) and good connectors (preferably DEANS type or XT60) also improve battery efficiency. Tamiya style connectors offer mediocre connectivity, waste lot of potential battery output and build up heat.

11.1 lipo or at least 9.6 Nimh battery is recommended for high torque setups (bigger than M120). 7.4 lipos are quite sluggish on hi torque setups and can't give enough output even if you had all of the previously mentioned things a-ok in your gun.

im essentially trying to "min max" the gun. i just re shimmed and re greased my gearbox and am currently using an m120 spring. the gun was shooting about 440 on this spring the last time i did work on it until it settled down to about 415-420.

i have a few springs laying around, and i know for a fact one of them is an m140 or an m150, and the other 2 are m120's. those are all more juice than i need. the other springs i have don't even pierce the bottom of a soda can.

im trying to get around 370-400 fps, without having to use something as stout as an m120. that way i can keep using my 7.4v batteries, and not worry about putting so much strain on the gun. I like a slower full auto, around 650-750 rounds per min.

i've left lipos in my guns for weeks and never had an issue. with that said, it's still not a good idea to do so.
