Bryan was never intended to be a top guy and Vince did this to work the hijacking fans into believing their opinions matter and that they still do. Their wallets matter. Vince buried the fuck out of Bryan at every possible push and had him constantly taking hard bumps and too severely injure and forcefully retire him. All to get back at the fans who ruined his Batista/Orton wet dream match.
