Even if it wasn't, he didn't substantiate his opinion in any real way. To point out a great performance of AJ's, look at the Abyss match at Lockdown 2005. It's one of the best David vs Goliath type matches I've seen.

The fiery opening with the suicide senton to get the jump on him, the smoothness when AJ goes under the barricade or springboards into the crowd to set up his forearm. Great establishment of the threat of his speed in the match. Amazing bumping and selling like when Abyss slams the cage door into his face and how that changes the match where AJ has to completely work underneath to get this win. The sympathy selling, how he takes Abyss' offense like when Abyss launches him into the corner with steel chains wrapped around it, and the timing of the hope spots that Abyss powers through as the violence escalates. A smartly worked match makes both men shine and an example of a great babyface performance from AJ.

Anyone who thinks AJ is just "all right" doesn't know what he's talking about. Not having the everyman charisma of Bryan or Punk's mic skills isn't a knock on AJ.
