Anybody here remember Smoky Mountain Wrestling back in the mid-90's or am I the only one?

Shit was awesome, say what you will about Jim Cornette as a person, but Smoky Mountain Wrestling was based.

We never would have gotten the best bros, if it weren't for SMW

Jericho working a match with a freshly broken freakin arm and pulling a Muta level blade job is essential pro wrestling.

It was in a elementary school gym. Loved the little kid who ducked so he wouldn't get blood splattered.

Sullivan did a similar act to Brian Lee at an elementary school as well. I am not sure if Sullivan was a real sadist or just loved working the lil jimmies hardcore.
>Smoky Mountain was, however, the birthplace of the controversial "Gangstas" gimmick, where black wrestlers New Jack and Mustafa would cut promos about activist Medgar Evers, use fried chicken and watermelons as props and win matches as a result of a two count (rather than the conventional three count), which the Gangstas (kayfabe) insisted on due to Affirmative Action.
I love that 2 count gimmick.

That is what I have always thought. I'm sure he has some bullshit reason why when he did it it made sense.

From what I understand, nobody was prepared for what a sick fuck Kanemura was. Supposedly he was supposed to do a run of the mill blade job and whipped out a fucking surgical scalpel or exacto knife or some shit and juiced waaaaay harder than what was expected. The story's out there.
