Vince hated him because Scotty was being groomed big time for production and other backstage jobs. Which he was pretty great at. He still has a great mind for the business.

The entire time he was working for WWF "pre-ECW" run, if he got bored he would tell production that he was working at the office and tell the office that he was at production, then he'd take the day off to get fucked up and have fun.

During a lot of this time, he let a very young Shane McMahon hang out with him and he'd take Shane out drinking, drugging, and womanizing. Shane would call his dad and let him know that he was hanging out with Scotty and not to wait up. Shane wound up hooked on some of that stuff and Vince held a grudge against Raven ever since.

His gimmick would never work in WWE today. There is zero creative freedom for wrestlers there and a wrestler gets severely punished for going off-script. Both of those things were what Raven used to create one of the greatest characters in wrestling history.

Raven is one of my favorite characters in the history of wrestling.

I always saw myself in him a lot. Like if I was a wrestler, which I wouldn't be for several reasons, it would basically just end up being a ripoff of Raven.
