Skiing Snowboarding General
How's your season shaping up?
Local mountain open yet?
Does it have a good base?
Getting any dumps in the coming weeks?
Taking any trips for winter?
Where to?
Get any new gear you're stoked about?
New skiisboard? Or are you still rocking your skiis/board with ruined, no-wax bases?
New goggles? Or stlil wearing your 10-year-old gordinis?
Got some fancy new jacket? I've seen a lot of orange this year, i guess that's the 'hip' colour this year.
What are you wearing on your head. I've seen a lot of synthetic balaclavas with toques over them this year. What about you?
Hi! I'll be skiing for the first time in my life next January.
How do I get ready properly?
Are jumpsuits better than huge jackets + pants?

Anything goes for the first time, get an instructor
Best choice for clothing is ski pants and shell jacket over quilted jacket (or whatever these ultra light and puffy jackets stuffed with feathers are called)

bought a new board at the staff sale (salomon salomonder 154) for 60% off! but going to ride my old salomon sanchez 151 until we get a better base on the hill as i don't want to scratch up my new board.
Hill base is about 168 but it feel like a lot less than that most places.
found a new pair of smith something's when hiking the hill in the summer, so i'm gunna wear those along with my ashbury's.

nah polyester fleece > down (feathers) for your nidlayer. once down gets wet from sweat it loses its thermal retention, and can get damaged. not good for high intensity sports.
tfw southern hemisphere ;_; I wonder if I could get away for a couple of weeks this summer to the north...
The gondola is always crammed with people that don't even ride and people keep dying on the chairlift.
