it wasn't brilliant. it was common sense
what was brilliant was wwe having common sense for once
>doing a complete 180 from goldber's first botched wwe run
It was genius. I wonder who came up with it and if it was Vince. Had Bork got his win back no one would have cared about the rubber match because everyone would have figured Goldberg was shot. Now he looks as strong as ever.
Brock Lesnar is GOAT seller

but only hard for his buddies Roman Reigns, Undertaker, and Goldberg and halfasses it for people he doesn't like like Deanetty and Haitch
>>1989172
He really is, it's a hugely underrated part of his skillset because he doesn't have much reason to do it.
He crumpled up like he'd been hit by a car when Randy hit him with the DDT at Summerslam. It was awesome.
>>1989133
My only question is when does Gilberg return and how long will it take the WWE universe to remember how much MoneyMountain was overhyped and underqualified?
>>1989180
when he staggered to the ropes during that match i fuckin marked
>>1989180
those yt comments tho
indians understand roman reigns is top dog
why can street pooping urchins understand wrestling but /asp/ cant
>>1989180
wow! a punch and a tackle.
>>1989180
What did they mean by this?
>>1989158
>I wonder who came up with it
Brock apparently.
>>1989133
idgaf about the match right now but tell me that isn't another 10/10 spear from the master of the move himself? Look at that fucking lift.
>>1989172
I was just thinking this while watching the match, the way he gets up after getting hit makes it very exciting
>>1989172
I thought that was Kane, when he was at the stage where he could actually be hurt.
I wish Brock would have kick off a single time, like, 2 spears, a superkick, goldberg goes for the pin, kick off barely, then jackhammer and wins, or something like that.
right now brock looked extremely weak, literally a squash match, and that's just wrong for him, albeit he sold it great.
but nonetheless, it was a nice surprise and I marked just as anyone else.
Another thing that greatly helped them is that Goldberg, being a old turd already, still looks /fit/ as fuck, you can still believe that he hits like a truck.

This is 4chan you nerd, it's a 360° turn dimwitt
Why's Goldberg so fun to watch? I've never even seen the Attitude Era matches, got to know him literally from the cover of the WWE 2K17 game. So there is no nostalgia factor in play. This dude is just... natural. His promos, his finishers, his emotions - it just feels right.
Is that how the Attitude Era was like? Full of Goldbergs?

Austbergies and Rockbergies

Goldberg is the product of some solid long term building through a mix of squash matches and dominating performances against main people on the WCW roster.
He has the look, the intensity, solid execution on the Spear which is a 'simple' move he makes look like a fatality at times.
I think his entrance with the security escorts is one of the most hype entrances of all time.
>>1989971
He's a character with a moveset you legit believe could fuck up any wrestler at any moment, and that's just...fun to watch, honestly. You know when Goldberg calls for the Jackhammer after the Spear that you're watching the end of the match, there's no way around it.
>>1989971
10/10 presence.
>>1990093
Yep, WCW mark here, any time Goldberg called for the Jackhammer it was curtain call, nobody fucking survived that shit.
He really does have a presence like no other. He is the epitome of what a true mastodon is, simple, ferocious, and with a move set that thrills even the most hardened of fans. The fact his mic skills have seemed to have improved is a bonus, though they've used him sparingly which is smart. He's not meant for that anyways, he's the king mastodon, he can just also manage to hold up during promos, unlike Brock who really needs Heyman(Though back in the day, Brock was okay with promos post Heyman but only as a mega heel).
I think all the time away actually helped him honestly, he managed to preserve his body and even back in the day, the bulk of his matches were cakewalks for him. His body definitely hasn't endured the punishment that a lot of top level guys have, which is why he's in such good shape now. And before anyone says The Rock, yeah he's bigger now but also more injury prone for some reason, if he were a bit more lean he'd probably be fine but he doesn't give a shit anyways, Hollywood's where he's at.
Oddly enough I was at Backlash 2003, I remember Goldberg vs. The Rock, Rock actually sold the spear quite well. He also pretty much ragdolled on the ground after the jackhammer.
>>1992026
Rock wanted Goldberg in WWE, because he had massive respect for the guy. Goldberg is what kept WCW afloat for almost two years. With better booking he should've been the biggest face of the monday night war.
>>1992026
I think the fact that Goldberg was booked so well in the past as a monster and never had anything like that blemish that Brock had with the Angle feud that kind of humanised and made a joke of him.
Don't get me wrong, the Angle feud was entertaining, but Goldberg never had anything like that. He was all serious all the time, rarely if any a moment of levity, and managed to end his career as a well booked monster. The fact that WWE are giving him a bit of freedom to be less of the Goldberg character and more Bill Goldberg is something I'm cautious about, but it's worked out well so far. Ultimately, I think he shouldn't go for a title run, and instead just be used sparingly as a main eventer to fuck up some heels. I'd love to see Goldberg have a quick run against KO, for example. Someone with great mic skills to truly make a face of Bill, generate amazing heat, and then ultimately get destroyed by him.
>>1992026
Hogan kicked out from the Jackhammer during a tag match.
>>1992079
I've never seem video of this but hear it often, which match?
>>1992081
I don't know specifically.
Hogan was tagging with Nash if that helps.
>>1989971
It's because the writers aren't feeding him anything. He's from the Attitude Era, when stars were meant to have their own charisma and were just given key points for their promos by creative. WWE's current system literally doesn't allow any face to be charismatic and be themselves.
For the in ring stuff and the way he carries himself, he's just a veteran, he's been right at the top and stayed there, holding a company on his back for some time. He basically only had one thing to do in WCW and that was be Goldberg, and it turned out he was really good at that, and people liked it.
The last time he was in WWE they didn't let him be Goldberg, this time they are booking him exactly like in WCW and it just naturally works, even 15 years later.
>his comeback promo is the most over promo since CM punk memebomb
it's amazing, because I can clearly see that kind of promo during the 1999~2004 a lot of times, and it gets middle pops, but now in current WWE is the best thing ever.
