Admit it.
When he pushed Brock down, you smiled. The smarkiness in you briefly dissipated. When he hit the spear, you smiled wider. When he called for the jackhammer, when you seen Brock selling that spear like a gunshot to the gut, you were fucking asking for that jackhammer. You fucking wanted Bill to end it there. When you got the 3 count, you marked out, even a little. You remember what it was like to watch wrestling in the 90s again...even for a second.
Just fucking admit it lads. We all got worked and we all fucking loved it.
Yeah it was like watching late WCW bro
not really. I never liked WCW. That was probably the stupidest thing I have seen since Sting vs Jeff Hardy.
Did feel almost like that yeah I just wish I was drunk since I'm completely numb while sober.
>>1979807
I was happy regardless.
I wanted the match to last an hour, it lasted 60 fucking seconds and I wasn't even disappointed.
>>1979831
that is because you weren't even alive in 1990
>Brock beat Taker for this
>Brock squashed Cena for this
>Brock returned to the UFC and won for this
>Brock has been physically active in combat sports and WWE while Goldberg has been away from it for over a decade for this
HOW DOES BROCK GET SQUASHED?!
He put up more of a fight at WM20. How does he get weaker? I can understanding losing, but a squash? Makes no fucking sense.
I was a WWE kid, I have zero nostalgia for WCW. I never switched to Nitro for more than 5 minutes.
>>1979831
This.
I grew up waiting for the day for based Hollywood to destroy that mark
>>1979859
>>1979859
>HOW DOES BROCK GET SQUASHED?!
Because the E doesn't want your business. I canceled the network over this and foley being a cuck.
>>1979807
Yeah, I remember what a stupid fucking move the Fingerpoke of Doom was from WCW.
I wasn't going to tune out without seeing the match, but then I looked at how much time was left on the show and decided to stick around to see who would squash who, so I guess I got worked into seeing it, in a way.
>>1979859
>Getting worked
Lol
I smiled through the entire match
>>1979859
You could not book Goldberg for longer than five minutes
>>1979807
This was basically what I was feeling right down to the hot chocolate. With one exception, the DS was replaced with the computer.
>>1979894
that why you book him to lose
>>1979807
Lol
>>1979807
Goldberg is a worthless faggot and so are you OP.
I enjoyed every second of it, and now I sit here somewhat saddened that this great stuff is a relic of the past and tomorrow is another day of manlets, limp wristed cucks, and trannies in the ring.
>>1979975
t.underage twink who was born in 2001
>>1979807
Not really, I was never a fan of Goldberg.
Don't much care for Brock either.
And in their 2 matches, nothing was accomplished. Both sucked and hopefully both guys fuck off like last time.
>>1979986
t. smark born in 95
>>1979807
I enjoyed the entrance and the squash. I used to watch matches like this all the time when I was a kid so I'm not even phased by it.
Today's smarks are used to 20 minutes of back and forth so much that they think this is what *every* match should be like. I liked the novelty of it, and obviously the shock factor. Screw the notion of "hurr it should be a younger guy" the younger guy who should have beaten Brock is Roman but smarks completely took a dump on that so Vince let them know what he really thinks. He runs the damn show and you'll still keep watching.
>>1979913
No, that's why you book Lesnaretty to get squashed.
>WCW kid
>glorious squash match
>mfw
>>1979996
It really is a based feeling to be honest.
>>1979988
Was born a decade before that kid. Probably why I thought Goldberg sucked. I wasn't a little kid why he came onto the scene.
This match just revitalized Brock, like it or not.
It showed he *can* be beat; he's no longer the end boss of WWE. I wouldn't expect it again anytime soon, but it adds that tiny little shadow of doubt to his matches again.
Plus, I'm a huge faggot Goldberg mark and loved seeing a 1998 squash match again.
>>1980027
Goldberg is not the right guy though, he's been out of the game for 12 years and is 50 years old. He shouldnt beat Brock, let alone beat him in under a minute. Brock is the most legit badass in the WWE with real fighting accolades, no one should be able to beat him.
it was enjoyable
i wasnt a wcw guy back in the day. i thought they were shit, and still do.
but it was pretty cool and both guys sold it well
>>1980070
Part of enjoying this shit is putting your brain on autopilot and just going for the ride.
Stop trying to think about it and just enjoy it or else don't even bother watching it, those are your options.
>>1980210
>Knowing it's shit
>Still eats it either way
You need to escape from the shithole that is the WWE.
>>1980210
This. Why do people like to overanalyze stuff like this? Just watch and enjoy the damn show for what it is. I enjoyed myself tonight mostly cause I stopped watching the weekly shows and I don't get a lot of filler clogging my mind.
Right now WWE puts out 5 weekly programs(6 if there's a PPV), I can't imagine why any well adjusted adult would want to keep up with all of this filler stuff without wanting to end themselves.
I never grew up watching wrestling, so this was the first time I ever saw two guys like this in a match together. I was finally going to see two real powerhouses, and it's over in 90 seconds.
>go and watch old matches on the network
Why should I watch those when I already know the outcome? At least Goldberg is confirmed for the Royal Rumble, maybe I'll finally get to see a the match I've always wanted to see live.
>>1980228
>Why should I watch those when I already know the outcome?
Do you watch wrestling for the winners and losers? Cause it's all scripted you know.
>>1980249
The point is that I was hungry for a powerhouse meal and all I got was a pea in a sea of flippy fast food.
>>1980228
>Why should I watch those when I already know the outcome
do you only watch movies once?
>>1980259
Actually yes.
>>1980228
Remember that El Jefe's Temple is open to anybody.
>>1980262
at least you're consistent with it
>>1979906
god I wish the DS wasnt in that pic, ruins the whole thing
>a bunch of underaged faggots expected some long, drawn-out slobberknocker from Goldberg of all wrestlers because they're both too young and too ignorant to know what Goldberg was and what his matches were all about
It was everything I could have asked for. I marked when he squashed Hulk Hogan for the belt and I marked tonight when he squashed discount Hogan even faster.
>>1980295
The match against Hogan was literally 4x longer than this.
>>1980302
And it was just as much of a squash match. Goldberg has ALWAYS been about demolishing his opponent regardless how strong they are. This match was a shining example of everything Goldberg ever represented. His entrance takes longer than his match 9 times out of 10.
>>1979831
>That was probably the stupidest thing I have seen since Sting vs Jeff Hardy.
Did you not see when Brock squashed a full time wrestler by hitting him with legit forearms to the head in order to draw blood in the main event of SummerSlam?
That was easily more retarded than this.
And honestly, they would have been courting disaster if they had these two try to actually work a match longer than 3 minutes.
>>1980308
Hogan got actual offense and even a nearfall.
>>1980295
>Goldberg was and what his matches were all about
Damn, he squashed shoot MMA champs in WCW too? After being out for over a decade? Sounds like terrible booking.
>>1980070
>real fighting accolades
Stop. These mean nothing in a fake fight for theater's sake.
>>1980257
Rewatch Cesaro vs. Sheamus lad
>>1980267
>Cage going bald
Maybe time to ease up on the roids.
>>1980329
Sounds like you don't know anything about booking.
>>1980332
They do when they referred to his UFC career over and over, including the promo right before the match itself with a video of him wearing the Heavyweight championship.
>>1980343
Sounds more like you just like terrible things.
>>1980347
Goldberg squashed Hogan in WCW. Maybe that was before your time.
I found it hilarious that they invested millions in Lesnar in promo etc. for him to go over everyone on their current roster, just to get squashed by a leather bag that will leave again. Made TNA look intelligent in comparison.
>>1980360
>for him to go over everyone
He only went over Taker, Cena, Jasethy and Deanetty.
http://www.strawpoll.me/11699773
Lets see what you think /asp/
>have your entire roster job to a guy who only shows up a few times a year
>have that guy job to a guy who's only having one match
The fucking conurbation of Rawtists. What the FUCK were they thinking?
This was shit desu
I completely marked out and loved it
Goldberg will probably do more in the short run than any of the regular guys who they'd actually give a Brock win too (Roman, Braun, maybe Cass)
>>1980385
He's not having just one match dude. Hell most likely do the Royal Rumble/Wrestlemania double as well
>>1980379
It was booked well. Vintage comfy WCW, if you didn't used to watch then you just didn't get it.
>>1979859
This happens all the time in WWE, I don't know why you were so surprised. For example, Undertaker beat Triple H, Triple H beat Brock Lesner and Brock Lesner beat Undertaker.
>>1979989
>He runs the damn show and you'll still keep watching.
>keep watching
Record low ratings say otherwise, you WWE cuck
Brock Lesner is a no personality hackjob MMA fighter who doesn't belong in the fucking WWE. Half of his promos are done for him by Paul Haymen these days and his "character" is rawr I suplex.
For that matter that was pretty much all of Goldbergs character too, but at least he had some sense of personality I guess.
Both wrestlers are shit and this match was shit. "I win 90 second matches" is not a fun gimmick to watch let alone pay several hundred dollars to attend to. I paid 10 bucks to watch and feel like it was shit. I went to grab pizza rolls from the oven and literally missed half a match.
>>1980428
>I went to grab pizza rolls from the oven and literally missed half a match
mr. plinkett, is that you?
>>1979807
THIS >>1979851

Brock has problems with his dookie maker.
Goldbergs spear targets the dookie eater.

>>1980605
>implying anybody watches current RAM
>>1980613
Then Brock should have exploded at WrestleMania 31.
>>1980619

>Roman was about to beat him
How, while lying on his back?
>>1980616
I bet you do
>>1980626
Hey pal, that's what Michael Cole always says.
Hated it because of how I had to eat my words. Told everyone it was a 4 hour show and the match would definitely be lasting a while
Also told them Brock would definitely win because they wouldn't waste the build up on a part timer
I was pretty BTFO by the end of it, earlier I was calling Nikki interfering in the women's match and didn't see the pretty telegraphed RKO coming on Seth and denied it.
Too much serving desu
>>1979807
MARKED OUT FOR THAT ENTRANCE FAMALAM.
It was great. The last thing anyone expected.
Marked out at entrance
got totally worked by match
marked out at ending
marked out seeing everyone in the audience marking out at once
"man i wish wrestling made me feel this way all the time"
>tfw tomorrow will be same ol Raw that feels like a chore to watch
>>1980689
This 2bh. Great match.
>>1979807
I marked.
It felt more like a ufc match, but I still appreciated it.
>>1979807
I thought it was one of the dumbest things I've seen all year. Total piece of shit match. I'm not a fat reddit smark though so I was over it as soon as the match ended
I'm guessing Goldberg was injured going in to the match which left them with limited options. After the time they've invested in building it up, they were never going to cancel it, so they left them with two choices. Give Brock the squash, which would have made bringing Goldberg back a waste of time, or let Goldberg take a quick win, which sets up the inevitable rematch in the future, and hoping Goldberg can actually get into a state where he can last longer than 5 minutes in the ring.
>>1979807
To get worked, you have to have some emotional investment.
I was moderately surprised, but I still didn't give one iota of a shit.
lmao, can't work me
Nah, it was shit. Didn't like (((Goldberg))) as a kid, certainly didn't like him last night. Month long story to sell a video game and WWEcucks still eat it up. Unreal.
haha smarks getting so upset over brock losing, based Goldberg, marked hard for him squashing Brock. Goldberg has the highest powerlevel of any wrestler in history.
>>1979807
Yeah, i can't lie...i marked. I genuinely think it was a great match. Lets be honest, they're not the most technical wrestlers. We're not talking about a Benoit vs Malenko match.
They're two injury-prone wrestlers. Somebody was bound to get hurt if the match was 20+ min.
>>1980875
>They're two injury-prone wrestlers
Lol what
>>1980890
They're well known for injuring wrestlers
>ywn get paid to defend the worst decisions in WWE history on the Internet
>>1980828
>Posting on an anime image board about scripted mandrama
>I...I'm not invested guys!

Goldburg is the only person Lesnar has ever faced who actually looked like he could fight him. The squash was glorious, they learnt from every mistake they ever made with him in his WWE run.
>>1980906

>Gave marks a reason to get hyped
>Gave smarks a big swerve

>Makes Brock human again
>Creates hype for RAW tonight

>>1981115
>Hype for Raw tonight
I know it's literally in the same place but will Goldberg or Lesnsar even be there? I'm half expecting Heyman to just come out saying Brock wasn't ready and that's it
>>1979807
Am I wrong in thinking Brock had it coming? He had gotten increasingly stale over the past two years and never put a single drop of effort into anything he did. But none of that matters because only smarks care about that shit right? But then he goes and juices for UFC and loses credibility in the eyes of the general public. And just to make matters worse, he shows up before Survivor Series in noticeably worse shape (look-wise) than a 50 year old guy.
Who can say Brock is a draw at this point? He blew his mainstream credibility, which was his main draw, and his support from wrestling fans has been dwindling. He's starting to not be worth the money WWE pays him and deserved to get put in his place.
>>1979859
>literally SEETHING
>>1981154
I hope it marks a change in Brock's character, but we'll see. Maybe he'll ditch Heyman for getting him in to the match with Bill in the first place
>>1981164
It amazes me how people don't realize how much of a bastard this guy really is. I mean I'm still a fan of his but people are seriously delusional about this man. He is as much of an asshole if not even more so then how Heyman sells him to people.
He will phone it in as much as he wants because fuck you faggots lol. If WWE really didn't like it they would demand he do more. Problem is they booked him to the point he didn't have to do much. Nobody could match him.
God it is like so many of you fags never actually watched wrestling in the 90's. I don't expect much of you were even watching in the 80's (admittedly I wasn't born until late 80's) but the dominance you saw Lesnar and Goldberg do to even main roster guys was a completely normal thing back then. Part of the reason why people couldn't care less for modern wrestling is the 50/50 booking and all these indie guys looking/sounding like complete shit. It takes more to be a superstar wrestler than just wrestling. If anything actual wrestling part is like close to the least important thing in attracting a massive fanbase to the product. Any joe schmo can wrestle. Plenty did that shit as kids. That doesn't take talent. What takes talent is knowing how to be a huge mega star personality like Hogan, Rock, etc.
>inb4 average guys can't do flippy shit
Sure but flippy shit doesn't draw. Otherwise luchadors would be popular in US.
>>1981164
He absolutely had it coming. Even in Kayfabe terms, he was booked to an insanely protected degree.
Really, the Goldberg match, if he was going to decimate Goldberg that is, needed to happen in between the Undertaker and Cena championship match for it to have any kind of rub effect on him.
It's now late 2016, and Brock has plateaued since the Cena victory. He hasn't gotten any stronger, he's just participated in dull squash matches. It's a good thing Bill wrecked him, in kayfabe terms. It gives Brock a chance to be an interesting character once again.
Was this Vince's apology for the horrendous booking of Sting?
>>1981225
I hope so.
Any other older WCW guys floating around? I'd love to see Steiner get another go in WWE.
>>1981228

>>1981228

>Brock squashes Goldberg
>smarks complain that the main event was a squash
