I've been thinking about opening a bowling alley, and after totally all the costs, its outrageous. The standard 10 pin bowling became popular because of competitive league play, but these days, most bowling lanes focus on family fun instead of competition.

I think its time to reinvent bowling to make it cheaper to operate for the bowling alley, friendlier for kids, and less competitive. It may be time for bowling alleys to switch to candlepin or duckpin bowling, or even invent a new style of bowling.

With all the advances in modern day technology, it still surprises me how outdated and expensive bowling machinery is. I don't see why there can't be a modern cheap pinsetting robot instead of the huge mechanical pinsetters. America needs to get away from the Brunswick and AMF corporations monopolizing bowling. Bowling should belong to the people, not leagues and corporations.

Hi I'm a bartender at a bowling alley and there's no money in this industry unless you're upselling drinks or terrible birthday parties

That's why I'd like to think of a way to make it cheaper for the operators and reinvent it to make it cool and hip again.

I think bowling needs to integrate with modern day technology, like maybe it can send the scores to a tablet or app. And pinsetter machines could be made to have far fewer moving parts and integrate modern day robotics AI.

It seems like bowling technology has been fighting to stay in the 60's instead of evolving.

this exists
>And pinsetter machines could be made to have far fewer moving parts and integrate modern day robotics AI
cost of implementation is too high for little return plus nobody would know how to fix them. Right now every alley has a dude who knows how to fix everything short of catastrophic failure, having to call in a robotics specialist to fix something that basic is just a pain.

Future of bowling is selling pitchers of beer cheaper than bars, turning on the blacklight and having bitches paint themselves in that glow in the dark paint. for better or for worse.

What if there was a miniature golf-esque version of bowling with obstacles and cool courses.
>>
This article is retarded. I really want German nine-pin bowling to spread to the US, not shitty candle/duckpin.
There are even three competitive types of nine-pin bowling.
>>
Gotta make it yourself friendo.

May be cheaper to buy an old alley and renovate.

I'd like to, but I'm not that smart and I don't have any money.

Bowling string machines need to come back to the US. They are much cheaper to operate and buy than typical pinsetters are. It may even be cheaper to go back to the old way of hiring pinsetter boys. They would get help with modern day technology like computers and conveyor belts though.

I think the standardized 10 pin league style bowling has stagnated the game, and cost a lot of jobs and local entertainment and culture. I think the future of bowling is that is needs to use simpler machinery, and be much cheaper to operate and play.

Bowling has to compete with video-games and smartphones these days. It needs to change to accommodate the millennials.

Nothing can. Phone users and phoneposters are subhuman.
