If you were aware of anything at the time you'd know that around 2005 when this stuff was common practice, wrestling stopped being seen the iconic pop culture thing everyone used to love to talk about but just softcore porn for teenage boys and perverted old men cause Vince ramped up the pervy-ness to 100 with how many angles he booked himself in with big boobed women that were his daughter's age. Going back to previous decades and saying "that's what worked then and what would work today!" is what Cornette has been doing for decades except about the 70s and 80s. What makes the 90s so special that if you literally started booking like it was the 90s all of a sudden ratings shoot up? Nothing, the answers nothing. Which is why TNA went nowhere.

Wrestling is a thing of the past until it becomes a fad again, but that's possibly decades down the line and probably doesn't happen with the WWE.

The closest we have come to the next "Revolution" is 4chan and the rise of anonymous but even that has watered down and tapered off into just another thing that happened. Another problem is that they're finding more ways of manufacturing the next trends, fads, revolutions. Hell most popular music is made by a computer or in a studio not by musicians or bands playing shitty bars/clubs for years and blowing up gradually. Macklemore was one of the only exceptions in recent years considering he got popular on his own merits.
