I was thinking about this the other day.

Would RVD's run/career been any different if he wasn't stoned all the time?

I mean he lost the strap because he got caught with weed in the car with sabu. But i'm talking more in ring ability.

I personally always felt he could have gotten better just like anyone else can, but he seemed to have gotten "comfortable" doing his style and didn't care to evolve it further. Bring a "high flyer" (no pun intended) and being a mat technician on Benoit or Angle's level would have been awesome to see for RVD, but he played it safe and his styled remained as such; only difference is now he is older and a but slower compared to his ECW run.

Probably not. He didn't mesh well with Triple H and actually injured him. There's a story of Hunter making a joke about RVD at one of their meetings about RVD having the "munchies." After the meeting RVD confronted Hunter on it which Hunter backed off and apologized. Either way RVD did/does his own thing and has had pretty great matches with just about everyone. Check out his matches with Eddie Guerrero.
