Honestly just watch LU. The reason I haven't really started another fed is because it's kinda daunting to get into a whole new brand from the get-go, plus, I'm pretty happy with SD right now.
LU's tight as fuck, though. It's really easy to ingratiate yourself with it's set of storylines. They're presented wonderfully.
SD and LU with the occasional NJPW sprinkled in is the way to go.

I'd recommend looking into PWG since they book a lot of LU guys and they're pretty story-light.
