Remember how he used to scrutinize WWE on his blog, then suddenly he praises everything they do and gets himself a reality show and a nice little spot on Raw. I've got no respect for sellouts. Mankind was the only character he ever had that had any potential but even that got turned into a comedy gimmick.

As little as I care about women's """wrestling""", I care even less about the emo arab and his quest for the title. This wouldn't fly on Smackdown being billed above the likes of Styles and Cena, but on Raw I see no problem.

I do however wish they had spent more time developing an actual story instead of relying on the women's revolution shit from over a year ago. The right way to go about a women's revolution would be to book them competently in meaningful scenarios, not just telling the audience it's happening and expecting us to believe it.

the problem with this and the whole revolution thing in general is that it isn't being presented as the women's division evolving from glorified fap fuel/piss breaks into actual matches and parts of the show but as a dramatic "WE MATTER NOW!" shift. Telling someone you're equal and important isn't worth shit if you haven't proven it, and just because you're in a HIAC (which doesn't matter anymore considering it has an entire PPV with no real build to justify using it once nevermind three times in a night) or a main event doesn't mean that spot was justified.

Just think about how this would go over if it was a different division, say the tag champs. Treat it for years as a place to dump people, to sniff out new shawns once you get rid of their janettys, maybe as something to do so you get paid when you don't have a "real" feud going on. Now instead of rebuilding it you just start shouting how important the tag division is and give it a main event that wasn't built up or earned.

It's the problem with trying to replicate stuff that happened organically in NXT and forcing it on the main roster for a completely different audience. It took years in NXT, with the Paige vs Emma and Natalya matches, then Charlotte and Sasha suddenly having a few really good ones, then Sasha and Becky, Sasha and Bayley. By the time they had the Brooklyn match and the Ironman match, people were genuinely invested in the division and wanted it to happen. In the space of a few months they've called some women up, totally fucked their characters, had the same match twenty times and said THEY DESERVE THE SPOT, FUCK YOU.

On NXT it was nothing to do with deserving the spot as women. People just loved the matches they were having and wanted to see them given a bigger platform. For me it was that brutal Sasha vs Charlotte match on NXT that won me over, but I couldn't give a shit about either of them now.
