I don't know why they haven't completely phased out the really short trunks that look like briefs

Jericho added years to his career when he switched to trunks. But he look based af in his tights when he was young.
Goldberg and Austin could be only trunk users.
Shawn could only ever do tights to make his legs seem really long.
Dolph is weird since he looks bad in everything.

Because trunks only look right on Heavyweights like Rock, HHH, Hogan, Warrior, Brock etc. Middleweights like Jericho, HBK, Edge, Bret etc only look right in tights. Their legs don't have enough muscle to pull off trunks.
