Lets have a thread for good old fashioned pro wrestling stories. I'm talking shoot incidents, crazy road stories, backstage pranks and shenanigans, wrestlers basically doing all the crazy shit that used to make pro wrestling great.

I will start by posting short descriptions of matches that turned into shoots and links to watch them, if possible.

To start is a more recent shoot match, Yoshiko vs Act Yasukawa from STARDOM

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbD5DsLXGMs

Yoshiko, the big bitch in red, was pretty jelly of Acts rise to popularity and didn't want to drop the belt. She fucks up Act like they are in a jail yard and Act owes her cigarettes or something. She deliberately targets Acts right eye which had just had surgery. To her credit, Act never gives up and continues to try and have an actual match through this whole one sided beating.
>>

Oh yeah, I remember this being big business on /wooo/ when it happened.
>>
I want to see Cheerleader Melissa get beat up all bloody. That shit would be hot
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_12qn29WKA

Here's Kurt Angle getting humbled by a MMA fighter during a segment when he challenged the Tough Enough cast to a weird hybrid of shoot wrestling/grappling match. I don't think there were any actual rules laid out but he did beat one of the via submission by neck crank.
Kurt got locked in a kimura, which is a legitimate armlock submission hold. The referee, knowing that Kurt wouldn't tap decided to count a pin despite Puder's shoulders not being down on the mat to save Kurt the embarrassment of losing.
During the next Royal Rumble, Puder got stiffed by Benoit, Eddie and someone else (I forget). Disgusting scumbucket of a business.

Antonio Inoki vs The Great Antonio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lXAGZtMxU8

Inoki had brought in a Croatian-Canadian strong man Great Antonio for a sort of freak show match. The problem is Great Antonio seemed to want to go over and refused to sell for Inoki, which results in Inoki beating the fuck out of the big man, yakuza style. Inoki kicking the Great fat fucks face in is a beautiful thing.

Akira Maeda vs. Riki Choshu

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2m5n5x

This was actually a six-man tag team match but it was the rivalry between Choshu and Maeda that turned this pro wrestling match real. Maeda was a young, rising star in New Japan pro wrestling who was frustrated by the politics at the time. Maeda was upset when Choshu was brought back to NJPW, angry that he was one spot back from the top. During the six-man tag, Choshu had Osamu Kido in a scorpion death lock as Maeda laid in a brutal roundhouse kick at full speed to Choshu’s face, breaking Choshu’s orbital bone. Maeda left and restarted UWF several months later, which was a pioneering promotion for "shoot style" wrestling which incorporated more stiff and realistic looking movies.

Maeda is a bigger cunt that Choshu and thats saying a lot. Choshu still deserved it tho.

The Mass Transit Incident

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x13qg4_the-mass-transit-incident_sport

This has been discussed for years and even has its own Wikipedia page. The Gangstas were booked to wrestle Eric Kulas who wrestled as Mass Transit and Devon Dudley. Kulas reportedly lied about being trained by Killer Kowakski and was only 17 years old. Kulas rubbed New Jack the wrong way when they put the match together and even smoked in the locker room before Perry Saturn and Taz yelled at him. The match saw New Jack cut Kulas’ head open with a blade to the point where Kulas was bleeding buckets of blood and his father was yelling “Stop the match” from ringside. Jack continued to work Kulas over and grabbed the mic after the match and said, “I don’t care if the motherf*#&^er dies! He’s white. I don’t like white people. I don’t like people from Boston. I’m the wrong n*&%er to f#$k with.” It came out in court that Kulas asked Jack to blade him and thus Jack was acquitted of any wrong doing. It doesn’t get any more real than this.

Act is taller than Yoshiko. The weight difference between them would not be a lot (Yoshiko's billed weight is BS).

internet tough guy here haven't seen on of your kind since the early 2000s! someone call national geographic!!
>>
>>1834613
Well, calling them companies is sort of a stretch. They are wrestling promotions. They are not corporations like the WWE or even TNA. They not even on the level of ROH. Only Stardom would come close to that.

Everyone else is more like a band. It's a very small number of people who come together to put on a single traveling act. The wrestlers live together or very close to one another, and do all of the work themselves. The wrestlers are the ring and merchandise crew.

So once you've got all that together you start booking some shows at the various small auditoriums across Japan that specialize in pro wrestling. So one spot might have wrestling every Saturday, but it will be a different company every week. Sort of like how a club might have a different band in town each week. The same fans will come from week to week and see all the different promotions that come through.

But sometimes a promotion may stay in one spot for a while if that place seems to be particularly hot, or if they need to save money. It just depends.

Why don't they all get together and form one big company like NJPW? There's not enough demand for the big budget stuff to pay for the costs.
>>
>>1834667
There's only so much room for wrestling if you condense all the companies into one homogenous product where there are likely several dozen creative visions and people who all want to be the boss considering that there are all those different companies for a reason . They can only put on x amount of people on a show and that would mean a lot of guys would lose spots.

It's not like they can compete with New Japan financially if everyone joined together, it's suicide.
>>
>>1834667
thanks for the explanation
>>
>>1834732
There's more to it than that. If a promotion gets popular enough it may be able to rent out a nearby auditorium on a semi-permanent basis and start a dojo.

Basically I just wanted to start an actual thread/conversation about the cool parts of pro wrestling instead of the mindless WERE THEY A DRAW/DID THEY FUCK/WHATS THEIR PROBLEM/WHATS THEIR FOOT GAME tier threads that dominate this board. Im gonna watch based Smackdown and will post some funny roadtrip wrestling stories later tonite.

Tough to believe anything that comes out of professional wrestling. These men are professional liars and any shoot interview you hear is almost certainly kayfabe 2.0, like all that shit about Meng being tough or Andre drinking that much booze. These guys are just lying to entertain their manchildren audience, it's kinda pathetic on both sides.
>>
>>1835465
Some things are works or lies about a wrestlers hardness or "street cred". However when you see real shoot matches and incidents of a wrestler being badass heroic things in real life (ie: Perry Saturn, Daniel Bryan) it becomes hard to just say all wrestlers are carnies or fakes.

OP here, its time for crazy road trip stories. Lets not even get into Jimmy Snuka murdering his mistress and the McMahans buying off the cops, because everyone knows about that shit.

pt1

Here is one about Roddy Piper and Kevin Sullivan trying to kill an alligator in Flordia, told by Frank Dusek.

I was wrestling in Florida in the 1984. My regular traveling companions were "Big Nasty" Angelo Mosca, Kevin Sullivanand a referee by the name of Bill Alfonso. On this occasion, Mosca had gone home to Canada to take care of some business. To help support the cards in Nasty’s absence, Eddie Graham brought in Rowdy Roddy Piper for a few dates.

On the way to Miami from Tampa there are literally miles and miles of canals, all filled will alligators. Piper had decided that he wanted to bag one of these gators to make himself a belt and a pair of boots. On a semi-deserted stretch of highway we sighted a potential target and pulled off the road.

Across the black water of a canal was a gator about six-feet long. Since alligator hunting is illegal, I won’t say who actually fired the shots, but it was clear that at least two hit the mark. The gator just floated there, 20 feet from where we stood. All that was left was to retrieve the trophy.

Kevin Sullivan said that he had read that pearl divers in the Pacific would slap the water to keep the sharks away while their partners dove for pearls. Sullivan said he would go into the water and slap it if Piper would retrieve the dead alligator.
>>
pt 2

Both Piper and Sullivan stripped to their tights (a lot of planning had gone into this since both wore their wrestling tights under their clothes). Sullivan entered the water to about his waist and began to slap the surface. Understand that the water in these Florida canals is as black as midnight. There’s absolutely no way to see anything more than a few inches below the surface.

Piper followed Sullivan into the water and began to wade toward the "dead" alligator. Just as Piper reached the level where he would have to stop wading and start swimming the worst of all possible things happened. The alligator moved. Not only did it move it began to swim and then disappeared under the water.

I won’t claim it was a miracle, but I did see two mortals "walk on water" that day as both Kevin Sullivan and Roddy Piper made their way, rather quickly, out of that canal.

Needless to say, Piper didn’t get the hide for his belt and boots.

Here's a real dirty true wrestling story, from the fucking outlaw filth promotion that was XPW.

In the grand legends of truly sleazy wrestling, no company was ever as awful as Rob Black’s XPW. Black had made his fortune producing “adult entertainment” of a particularly rancid stripe, often starring his then-wife Lizzy Borden. With that money, he ran an indy promotion in the Los Angeles area that often featured adult entertainers as valets.

Well, Borden ended up getting close with XPW star Messiah, and before you know it two unidentified guys broke into Messiah’s apartment, beat him severely, smashed a fishtank over his head and cut off his thumb. Oddly enough, they didn’t steal anything, making most people in the know come to the conclusion that they were hired muscle sent by Black to pay the wrestler back for his adultery. Uh, dude, you can’t get mad when you marry a porn star and she bones other people.

Thsi is always a sad one, but one of the best examples of real life horrific violence in pro wrestling. Im talking about Bruiser Brody getting merked in Puerto Rico by Invader 1.

Bruiser Brody was one of the wildest men in wrestling history, but the way he met his end was over the line, even for him. After a lifetime of wild matches all over the world, Brody travelled to Puerto Rico, home of some of the most intensely involved wrestling fans on Earth. Before a show in Bayamon, Brody was approached in the locker room by fellow wrestler Jose Huertas Gonzalez, who worked under a mask as Invader I.

Under the pretense of conducting private business, Gonzalez lured Brody into the showers, where he pulled out a concealed knife and stabbed him multiple times in the chest. Brody was rushed to the hospital but died during surgery, and through some miracle Gonzalez escaped any jail time for his cowardly assault. To add insult to injury, they had to break both of Brody’s legs to fit him into a cheap Puerto Rican casket.

Based Harley Race pulls a gun on Hulk Hogan

In the mid-’80s, McMahon’s WWF went national, threatening the status quo of the wrestling world. Until then, numerous promotions were set up across the country, operating independently under the banner of the NWA.

So, when McMahon started airing national WWF shows and touring his troupe into the cities normally controlled by these territorial groups, the old guard was none too happy. It wasn’t till they toured into the longtime NWA stronghold of Kansas City, though, that the enmity reached a boiling point.

Supposedly, Hulk Hogan was in the dressing room when a local wrestler named Harley Race stormed in. Race walked up to a seated Hogan and punched him, knocking him to the floor. When Hogan sheepishly said that he was surprised Harley wasn’t carrying a gun, Race reached into this jacket and pulled out a .38 Special. Nobody got shot, but Race had made his point. Hogan later claimed that Race actually tried to burn down the WWF ring, though Race denies it. Like most other regional promoters, Race lost a lot of money when the WWF took over, and to make back the money he lost, he ended up going to work for McMahon just a couple of years after the gun incident.

Fabulous Moolah steals Winy Richters title.

This is by far not the worst or seediest story about Moolah, who was one pimp ass (literally) motherfucker.

On Nov. 17, 1985, female superstar Wendy Richter was in the middle of salary talks with the WWF when she was set to defend her WWF women’s title against a masked opponent named The Spider Lady. But when the masked challenger made her way to the ring, Richter — and the fans — could clearly tell it was Richter’s longtime rival, The Fabulous Moolah, under the mask.

While most people probably thought it was just another storyline double-cross, Moolah’s arrival was a legitimate shock to Richter. As The Spider Lady enters the ring, you can see she isn’t acting.

She tries to wrench off Moolah’s mask to expose her, but to no avail — Moolah muscled Richter into submission, and the complicit referee counted a quick three. After the bell, Richter yanked off the mask and exposed Moolah, attacked her, and tried for a pin of her own, but it was too late.

It’s only when the announcer climbed into the ring that Richter realized it was all over. “Ladies and gentlemen,” legendary voice of the WWF Howard Finkel said, “the winner of this bout and new World Wrestling Federation Ladies Champion: The Spider? The Fabulous Moolah?”

Richter was livid, but there was nothing to be done. Moolah had the title back, and Richter would never get her new contract. She was never seen in the WWF again.

It's pretty hilarious, at first Andre wont sell for Maeda who decides to take him down and try to do locks and submissions - which Andre just powers out of. This is an example of a legit badass mma dude trying to work with a monster pro wrestler. The best thing about this match is Antonio inoki comes down to stop the match, and then both Maeda and Andre talk shit to him. Another weird shoot match from Japan.

>What made her think she could fight for real against someone twice her size.

As I stated earlier, Yoshiko is not twice Act's size. They are of similar stature. Which reinforces the belief that at some level what happened was worked, as Act should have been able to defend herself to a greater extent.

I personally believe everything was a work up until the point when Yoshiko attacked Act's eye. I believe she went into business for herself then. It was a worked shoot that turned into the real thing. I believe Act's demeanor changed greatly when she rolled out of the ring and began to realize she had been truly injured, rather than just getting a bloody nose like the original plan. Those are ringside saw how her orbital socket had once again been damaged and prevented it from going further, but the damage was done.

Harley Race kicked the shit out of Jumbo Tsuruta easily when he saw that Jumbo had been giving Flair stiff suplexes the whole match (Jumbo has been described by Flair as a smaller Brock Lesnar and is a former olympian who made it the the 1972 games in munich but didn't win anything)

Harley also apparently makes a mean bowl of chili and always invites people to have some . Sounds like a nice guy to have as friend. Even if he also does have a bad attitude and holds a grudge longer than Chicago Phil

He hasn't spoken to Dory Funk Jr. as friends since the 70s when Dory sided with the NWA board to make Terry the champion as the NWA wanted a college educated champion for some reason and Harley never finished high school

I completely ignored that it was talking about the joshi companies and not wrestling in japan in general.

if it's joshi then all the promoters are individually scumbags the way things traditionally are with womyn's wrestling promoters and would never get along with each other. Also the joshi fad is over, done. Also also keeping a steady stream of top girls would be hard and that's why all the big joshi companies died because they couldn't replenish their talent

Keeping the thread rolling with an awesome story and a little shoot match -

This one is about Herbert Abrams and his UWF fed. Before his debaucherous demise, Abrams gained fame, or rather infamy, as a wrestling promoter. Described as a “con man among con men,” even the name of Abrams’ promotion was stolen, as he pilfered the Universal Wrestling Federation name when former UWF promoter Bill Watts forgot to copyright it.

It was a lackluster promotion and Abrams rarely paid his wrestlers, instead blowing huge amounts of money on cocaine and hookers. One entertaining match was between “Wild Thing” Steve Ray and “Dr. Death” Steve Williams. Abrams had accused Ray of sleeping with his wife and stealing his cocaine, and paid Williams, a legit tough guy, an extra $100 to break Ray’s nose. that match is here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuCALA4wWQ8

I forgot to mention, Abrams cocaine use made him a paranoid psychotic. An ex-girlfriend noted that “when he did (cocaine), he went into a completely paranoiac state, unlike anything you can imagine. He was convinced he was being watched by "the Feds" and he would literally destroy anything and everything around him in his attempt to find the "bugging devices". All the while, he would run water to "cover-up the sound" of anything he might say.”

Herb Abrams died in July 1996 of a cocaine-motivated heart attack while in police custody. He’d been arrested when police were called to the scene after he began running through his offices, stark naked, screaming and destroying everything in sight with a baseball bat.

To make matters… well, weirder, Abrams had several barely dressed prostitutes in tow at the time, and his body was covered in both cocaine and a waxy vaseline-like substance.

Heres one about a luchador named "Oro" who killed himself trying to emulate Kenta Kobashi.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uNObZL8gfo

Oro: At 5'10" with great high flying ability, especially for his build, this Mexican wrestler was seen as a potential superstar, compared by some to a larger Rey Mysterio. He had a high work ethic, always wanting to have the best match on the card, and was an avid tape watcher looking for new ideas. On October 26, 1993, Oro teamed up with La Fiera and Brazo de Plata to face the team of Kahoz, Dr. Wagner, Jr., and Jaque Mate at Arena Coliseo in Mexico City, he told the other wrestlers in his trios match that he was going to take a "Kobashi bump," referring to the high angle head/neck bump that Kenta Kobashi had recently taken for Steve Williams' "Dangerous Backdrop Driver" finishing move in All Japan Pro Wrestling. After taking a clothesline, he took a similar bump, and he couldn't stand up. His pulse dropped as his brother (Plata, his regular partner who was at the show) frantically pleaded for him not to lose consciousness as he was stretchered out of the ring. He died at the arena. At the request of the family, no autopsy was performed, but it's believed that he died of a brain aneurysm. The match continued and aired in full on television.

>After 3 months of training, Act fell seriously ill again,“My doctor told me to not wrestle, not even to do anything too active, but I refused. I couldn’t live with giving up. He then gave me the option of taking a medicine that would strengthen my body, but told me the drug’s side effects could prevent me from ever having children.”

The doctor asked Act to take two weeks off and seriously consider her next step, but Act never wavered, “After two weeks I came back to training and saw everyone practicing the dropkick. I was so upset that I was behind.” Beaming with pride she said, “I was so angry, I practiced the dropkick so much that now my dropkick is higher than anyone else.”

She took the medication and it allowed her to recover and pass her audition with Stardom: “My weakness gives me strength. If I was healthy and everything was alright, I wouldn’t have tried so hard; I would have given up.”

Leatherfaces vs Shoji Nakamaki and Hiroshi Ono

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzWjSWLNPk4

pt1
This story is really about Corporal Kirchner, who was in WWF for a time but between people complaining he worked too stiff and getting popped for substance abuse, he was let go.
Following his dismissal from the WWF, he made a successful wrestling career for himself in Japan as he created the ring name and gimmick of "Leatherface" and tied it in with the villain of the same name from the movie The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He originally wrestled for Victor Quiñones' W*ING promotion and was considered by many to be the toughest hardcore wrestler in W*ING. However, Kirchner was later arrested and jailed for six months following an attempted assault by a fan, which left the fan with severe facial injuries. During his brief time in jail, the Leatherface character that Kirchner created was given to another wrestler, Rick Patterson, who eventually left W*ING and went to International Wrestling Association of Japan. During a subsequent match in the IWA that the new Leatherface competed in, the original Leatherface (Kirchner) appeared in the crowd.
>>
pt2

This set up the team of the Leatherfaces, which lasted for only one match and was intended as a transition of the character away from Patterson. On December 13, 1994, the Leatherfaces faced two popular wrestlers, Shoji Nakamaki and Hiroshi Ono. In a match that would become a classic within hardcore wrestling, Kirchner broke kayfabe after the match and ripped off a piece of the bed of nails, placed it on Ono's throat and then executed a leg drop onto the patch of nails. He then powerbombed Ono onto the bed of nails. Kirchner afterward left the IWA, with the promotion claiming that he was fired in an attempt to salvage Ono's destroyed reputation. To Ono's defense and proof he was a legit tough customer, even with having severe facial injuries and probably holes in his throat, he was only out of wrestling a month or two before he was right back doing crazy deathmatches

Paul Orndorff vs Vader

Let's travel back to the 1990s, when Big Van Vader, who later had a run in WWE, was performing in WCW. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, a legend in his own right, who later became a WWE Hall Of Famer, was working as part of WCW management at the time.

As the story goes, Vader arrived late to a WCW television taping. Orndorff, who was there to help with production, was demanding that Vader hurry up, as they needed to film some promo work for future television broadcasts. Allegedly, there was pre-existing heat between the two, so Vader reportedly got in Orndorff's face and talked a little smack. Orndorff, himself an infamous tough guy from Florida, apparently egged Vader on. Simply put, he basically begged Vader to hit him. This is where things heated up.

Vader reportedly hit Orndorff in the chest, knocking him down to the ground. Depending on who's version of the story you believe, what happened next is where details get blurry. The most commonly told version of this story claims Orndorff got up and knocked Vader down to the ground with a hay maker right punch to the face. What isn't debated, at least from all accounts I've heard, is what happened next.

Orndorff followed up his knockdown punch by laying the boots to Vader while he was still laid out on the ground. However, Orndorff wasn't wearing boots. Orndorff, wearing sandals, or flip-flops, reportedly stomped Vader out with them until the scuffle was broken up by wrestlers and other individuals in the area.

OP here, we have had about enough horrific shoot incidents for a life time so lets move to funny pranks and backstage ribs, starting with the ever infamous shitbird X-Pac

Sean Waltman, also known as X-Pac, was one of the best pranksters in wrestling. At one point, X-Pac revealed that Sable was very disliked, stating that she was one of the most unpopular Superstars backstage in wrestling history. This was due to the fact that Sable took credit as being the reason RAW would get such high ratings. During her final show in Wembley Stadium, along with Marc Mero, wrestlers backstage decided to make the two leave with a parting gift. An undisclosed wrestler would let out their “waste” in a cup and just seconds before his music hit against Shane McMahon, X-Pac put it in Sables’ traveling bag.

Sable would travel all the way back home across the Atlantic past customs before finding the “gift”. Upon hearing about how Sable was considering doing a DNA sample on the waste, X-Pac burst into laughter thinking of that scenario.

......

Another shitty X-Pac story is Mark Henry was known as being very unpopular amongst other wrestlers in the locker room, back in his earlier days. The biggest inspiration to the prank began when a wrestler jokingly hid Henry’s crutches, and instead of laughing it off, Mark threatened some wrestlers – big mistake. While Henry left the lunch table, X-Pac decided to leave a little gift in Mark’s sandwich. Witnesses claim Henry actually bit into the sandwich, without even noticing the “waste” inside of it. Henry immediately ran to the bathroom and vomited, and once he came back, his crutches were gone, once again. Before Henry would have the time to go crazy and scream at the wrestlers, Owen Hart told him Vince needed to see him immediately. Poor Henry began his journey across the entire arena with a banged up leg, only to find out that McMahon had not been there all day. Talk about a tough day at the office.

Here's a classic:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izEcYwAhgJg

>In February 1990, Vader faced Stan Hansen at an AJPW versus NJPW supercard show. Before Vader entered the ring, Hansen accidentally broke Vader's nose with the bullrope Hansen carried to the ring for his matches. During an exchange of stiff punches, Hansen unintentionally poked Vader's right eye with his thumb during their brawl, which caused the eye to pop out of its socket. After removing his mask, pushing the eye back into its socket and holding it in place with his eyelid, Vader continued wrestling Hansen until the match was rendered a no contest. As a result of the injury, Vader required a metal plate to be surgically placed under his eye.

not one mention of buck zumhofe

Zumhofe was jailed in July 1986 when he was found guilty of sexual misconduct involving a minor. Zumhofe served 36 months in prison after being convicted of fourth degree sexual conduct with a minor on January 23, 1989.[5]

Zumhofe was again arrested on May 27, 2013, charged with twelve felony counts of criminal sexual misconduct.[6] Zumhofe is alleged to have sexually abused his daughter between June 1999 and June 2011.[7] He was convicted on all twelve counts on March 5, 2014.[8] Following the verdict, Zumhofe attempted to flee from the court house, but was quickly tackled by court officers and charged with "escape from custody".[9] On May 6, 2014, he received a total of 25 years in prison on two first-degree and two third-degree counts of criminal sexual conduct. The judge ordered the sentences on the four counts to be served consecutively. His escape from custody charges were eventually sentenced to run concurrently with his 2014 criminal sexual conduct sentence.

Ahmed Johnson did a lot of coke back around 1996 at the height of his WWF pay. I don't think I have to tell you that Chris and Tammy enjoy their fair share of nose candy. Well once they had blown through their cash but were still jonesing, they got desparate. They asked Ahmed for an eight ball on credit. He laughed and said, "Black people don't believe in credit. But we can barter." Chris asked what he wanted and Ahmed nodded in her direction. Chris looked at Tammy who shrugged before he said, "Well hey don't hurt her, okay?" So like twenty minutes later Ahmed finishes and Tammy leaves his room with the tiny, paper envelope. Instead of going back and using it with Chris (who was in their room freaking out), she did the coke with Shawn Michaels and spent the night in his room. A few hours later a frantic Candido starts banging on Ahmed's door. Ahmed answers the door and Candido asks, "Is Tammy here?" Ahmed shrugs and Chris says, "Where the fuck is Tammy?" Ahmed says he doesn't know because she left hours ago. Candido immediately abandons his search and says, "Well did she take the dope with her?" The next morning he still hasn't seen Tammy so he goes to the front desk where he runs into Shawn Michaels in the lobby. Shawn walks up to Candido and pushes a nostril close, sniffs, and says, "Thanks for the bump, Chris." Chris asked where Tammy was and Shawn said, "She's probably back in your room now." Candido stormed up to see her, got in a big argument, went to the building, and quit on the spot. The agent told him he couldn't quit w/o a written notice. So he picked up a booking sheet, flipped it over, and wrote: "I quit. Chris Candido" And that was the end of his WWF career

Booker T and Batista brawl at a commercial shoot

Booker T's victory in the fight with Batista has earn him extra lockerroom respect. One source stated that Booker T dominated Batista due to having more street fighting experience.

Booker T did take a very personal verbal shot at Batista, however, one source said that it did not come until the situation became very heated. No one blames Booker T for what he did, as the general feeling backstage is that Batista has become very arrogant since wining the World Title.

The latest on the Booker T-Batista fight at the commercial shoot for Summerslam 2006 is that it was real. Batista's face was apparently cut up after the incident with Booker T having a black eye that was visible on SmackDown! last week. A close friend of Batista informed everyone it was a work, but many speculate it is just so Batista can save face since Booker T was the clear winner of the fight.

Batista was supposedly rubbing people the wrong way while talking about how SmackDown!'s ratings has dropped since he's been gone and basically making it like he was the only attraction on SmackDown! The SmackDown! locker room has always had heat on Batista since Batista did interviews where he would be praising the RAW show and putting down SmackDown! to great lengths. Many have gone so far as to say that JBL sand-bagged his three matches with Batista as a way of paying him back for the insults. Batista did hang out with Eddie Guerrero backstage shortly before his death and that won him over some friends, but the fact that Batista thinks he's a star as big as The Rock or Steve Austin doesn't help matters. Batista does not carry himself backstage like Triple H or The Undertaker, but he does act superior to midcard veterans who have yet to receive a main-event opportunity as he did.

JBL shoots on Blue Meanie

Meanie had, earlier, stated that JBL took liberties in the ring, and called him a "bully" on his website. At ECW One Night Stand, JBL took a huge liberty by stiff-punching Meanie in the face, opening up a fresh wound and giving him a black eye. Backstage, the fight continued physically as JBl went after Meanie again, but it was broken up. WINNER: Blue Meanie, after his point was proved in front of the Hammerstein Ballroom and the locker room. UPDATE: A handheld video of the incident has surfaced. Meanie is clearly taunting JBL before the brawl, although that was part of the show. JBL then punches him in the head from behind and they lock up. JBL lost his balance and got back up. The lock up again, and JBL nails him with face shots while all Meanie can get in is some weak body shots. JBL puts Meanie down and staggers away, looking back one last time to make sure he's down for good. After Meanie gets up, you can see him tell Al Snow what happened, and Snow looks concerned. Backstage, Meanie and JBL had to be separated, with JBL complaining about what Meanie had said about him on the internet and in a previous court case, testifying against him in a totally separate case involving ex-referee Billy Silverman. WWE never punished JBL for this

>WWE never punished JBL for this

No shit, he was one of their top heels at the time and Meanie was just back for a couple of nights. Also, Stevie was dispensable, so they fired him after that shoot chairshot he gave to Jbles.

Nailz chokes out Vince McMahon

Nailz, real name Kevin Walcholz, was an ex-con character brought into WWE in the early 1990s to feud with Big Boss Man, a police character. You have to be a die-hard fan of WWE to remember Nailz, because the incident I'm about to describe pretty much ended his career.

The year was 1992. Nailz, who worked against Virgil in the second match on the show, was upset about his payoff from the event. SummerSlam 1992 took place at Wembley Stadium in London, England, and outside of the famous WrestleMania III event, was the second-largest attendance ever featured for a live WWE event.

So Nailz, who worked the event, felt he was underpaid. He went to the bosses office to complain. Apparently McMahon basically blew off Nailz's complaints, which angered Walcholz even more. As the story goes, Nailz then attacked McMahon in his office and choked him completely unconscious to the point that he reportedly turned blue.

It goes without saying, Nailz was fired for the incident.

Interestingly enough, Nailz was set to work a main event program with Ultimate Warrior, one that likely would have paid quite well. This is where the story gets even more interesting.

Everyone is aware of the fact that McMahon was part of a major steroid trial in the 1990s. It was a trial that could have resulted in a lengthy prison stint for McMahon. McMahon was eventually acquitted, however, and depending on which story you believe, he might have Nailz to thank for it.

Apparently Walcholz, who was called as one of the witnesses for the prosecution, and was supposed to help put McMahon in jail, ended up contradicting himself so many times during the trial that he is quite possibly one of the key reasons McMahon was acquitted.

Yeah, this one was really stupid. I think I remember reading somewhere that the Tough Enough guys thought this was real and they were told to actually attempt to beat Angle. Then when Puder stepped up and could have easily beat Angle, Puder could heat and got stiffed for no other reason that doing his job. You can't tell him it's real then stiff him when he does actually do it for real.

Not strictly true. 1 burglar was slow in getting away so Bryan chased after him and put him in a RNC until the police arrived.

Any normal person with a bit of muscle would be able to do that.

Drunken Jericho convinces Kofi Kingston to fight Vince Mcmahon on a plane.

as told by Jericho

pt1

“WrestleMania was going to be held on March 28, 2010, in the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with a quadruple main event of Vince vs. Bret Hart, Cena vs. Batista, Michaels vs. Undertaker II, and Jericho vs. Edge. It was slated to be one of the biggest Manias ever and a few weeks before the show, I was asked to fly on Vince’s private jet from Raw in Nashville to Phoenix for a press conference.

It was about a four-hour flight and Vince, Cena, Kofi Kingston, Laurinaitis, and I passed the time by playing cards, listening to AC/DC and The Rolling Stones (of course) and drinking straight Jack Daniel’s. After the confrontation with HBK in France [a future Pro Wrestling Stories installment], I no longer drank brown alcohol, as Jack and Jericho still didn’t get along. But I was hanging with the boss and there wasn’t anything else on the plane, so I indulged. Bad idea because after four hours of being on the same aircraft, Jack kicked Jericho’s ass. I was completely shitfaced (all of us were) when the plane landed, and I was in a nasty mood. Drunkicho was back and he was pissed . . . literally.

The plane pulled up on the tarmac and we stayed aboard for a few extra minutes to finish up our drinks. Kofi got up to leave, and Vince made some sort of a jokey comment along the lines of “Maybe you’ll get over one of these days.”

pt2

I thought it was an unfair remark and caught up to Kofi on the runway.

“You have to go back on the plane and challenge him to a fight right now. If you don’t, he’ll know he can walk all over you whenever he wants. If you go challenge him, he’ll love it and respect you for it.”

I wasn’t ribbing Kofi. I legitimately meant what I said and wanted to see him stand up for himself. To his credit, he only thought about it for a few seconds before marching back up the steps of the jet. I followed closely behind.

“How’s your dad?” Vince asked me as I got to the top of the stairs. “Tell him to give me a call! I really like that guy and would love to chat with him again!” They’d met once.

Kofi piped up and said with some big-boy bass in his voice, “Vince, do you have a problem with me?”

Vince looked him in surprise as Kofi repeated the question.

“Maybe I do,” Vince replied. “Do you wanna do something about it?”

Kofi swallowed hard, knowing he’d gone too far to turn back now. “Do you want me to do something about it?”

“Do you want to do something about it?” Vince repeated as he looked seriously into Kofi’s eyes from his chair.

“Do YOU want me to do something about it?”

“Do YOU want to do something—” Vince double-legged Kofi mid-sentence. They scuffled and rolled around in the aisle for a few seconds, until Vince got up laughing.

“That’s the way to do it!” he belly laughed and got off the plane.

Kofi looked at me for justification and I gave him a big thumbs-up.

I’m not sure if he gained Vince’s respect that night, but he sure gained mine.”

do you guys think vince is really a paper tiger? like he carries himself like a bad ass but all you gotta do is call him out for a bitch and you get pushed hard?

Prichard said the ribbing was so intense at points that Cornette carried handcuff keys and actually used them to escape a rib once.

Where he probably makes twice what he did as before, gets fuckhuge royalty checks for merch nd is more over than he has been for the rest of his wrestling career.

Sure he's not complaining. That is wild about Vince though. He's an old-school tough guy who respects guys with balls. He must be miserable with all the beta manginas this PC bullshit culture keeps sending his way.

This reminds me of a tag match I saw Twin Towers or something like with Sid and someone else, and one of the jobbers got straight up after the bell and so the main guys went back and started stiffly punching them. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?, I can't find it.
