Depends on his preferences and other factors (loadout, playing style, etc.).

E&L uses real steel externals with full mil-spec compatibility and over-average internals, which justify their prices. They've recently started producing AR-15s as well, so I'd take a look into them as well.

G&P makes extremely decent AR-15 models which are fully mil-spec/real steel compliant while being fully Marui V2 compatible, and often have really sweet bundles (rifle + grenade launcher for +$50 tops) or old and exotic (and historically accurate!) AR-15 models (e.g. XM177E2, XM16E1, etc.), which are perfect for reenactors. Their internals are average, though, so it would be wise to invest in a light tuning for reliability and accuracy first (HU bucking, MOSFET, compression parts).

I did some extensive testing with different bbs, weights, and hopup settings. Ultimately both gats had an effective range of (horizontal, duh) 45m with .25 tested on two metallic surface of 30x30cm (no grouping data, sorry)

This is the reason why it's hard to find Dboys/JG 416s, JG G36s, and CYMA/JG MP5s or P90s in the States that aren't licensed through a company like Cybergun, ASG, or Umarex. Glock on the other hand has been pretty reluctant to license their name to airsoft manufacturers either because they're the ones trying to kill the companies, or because they don't want to "tarnish" the Glock image, but apparently they signed a licensing agreement with Cybergun last year. Although I remember seeing some stuff from SHOT Show from I think last year or this year and Glock was low key showing off their airsoft "training pistol" that was like $500.

Green gas kind of sucks and co2 mags are a pain in the ass to work with. Tapping mags is shit because, well, you have to run them hooked to a line but other than that everything is positive. If you run a mag untapped for an emergency reload you are good to go, really.

For CO2/NBB I got the brand new Dan Wesson 715. I'll probably stick to GGas for Mk23 as it doesn't get much love in the long mags departments and I like it without any hoses and shit sticking out.
