Agreed. This killed his momentum. It was his 'Luger beating Yokozuna by countout' moment.
>>1825126
>killed his momentum
They pretty much built Brock up by beating the streak for the sole purpose of this match.
Roman should have gone over and then Seth still cashes in. Instead, Brock still looks "strong" and is just a meme man, while Roman continues to look none the better since.
>>1825126
>This killed his momentum
His momentum was killed when he got injured after his match with Randy, came back and cut those awful promos around TLC 2014
Yeah, because Roman going over the next year worked out so well.
They should've done what they did, then booked Seth like a real champ, not a total loser.
>>1825132
>roman should have gone over
>>1825135
what?
>>1825122
Pretty much. They had the chance to crown their next big guy, but they listened to a vocal minority who don't mean shit.
Vince McCuck's greatest mistake.
>>1825132
He did have momentum. Only smarks didn't like him back then.
He was legit voted superstar of the year in 2015, and in the build to Fastlane that year, mark cities were booing Bryan.
>>1825193
>He did have momentum
no he didn't, all momentum was dead after the worst royal rumble in history

>>1825193
First off, that Slammy was from 2014:
>Reigns beating Cena AND Bryan AND Lesnar in a popularity poll in a year where he did jack shit
>legit
And by the end of Fastlane even a mark-ass town like Memphis picked Bryan over Reigns.
He just didn't have what it takes.
>>1825199
So does this faggot actually believe this or is it just bait?
>>1825210
Romannetty marks are typically straight-up delusional.

It's just carter/deancuck's new gimmick, all the Roman threads are made by him
>>1825228
>Le Meltzer
lmao, he already caused a 2.9 Raw rating after winning at WM32.
Roman going over Brock would have destroyed WWE 1 year ahead of time, with much worse results.
Instead of a 3.7 rating that Rollins got, Roman would have got a 1.6, crumbling to 0.5 within a month of title reigns.
>>1825228
Think you need to watch that WM31 match again kid, he got universally booed as soon as his music hit and anytime he got any offence in.
>>1825245

Also there are no boos. Unlike those that Roman has been getting for 3 years.
It's fucking insane how you refuse to acknowledge those and demand people to acknowledge the imaginary ones that Bryan never got.
You are schizophrenic dude.
>>1825228
See, now, I could buy the Bellas winning the Diva Slammy in ...2013...? because putting them as one nomination gave them an obvious advantage.
I can even swallow Usos getting Tag Team Slammy last year despite being out for over half of it, 'cause New Day were heels and none of the other babyface teams were particularly accomplished.
But as stated earlier I simply cannot buy into Reigns doing fuck all in 2014 yet beating Cena, Bryan AND Lesnar in a vote.
>>1825249
Cena didn't get booed the fuck out before he was an established top guy.
Difference.

It was a really good match, but Roman winning when he wasn't over would've been fucking stupid.
For god's sake, there's a reason that
1) Everybody popped like crazy when Rollins, A HEEL, came out to cash in.
2) The Raw after Mania that year is the highest rating the company's popped in years, still.
It was cool and interesting. But they fucked up the storylines afterwards and things have just been going downhill since.

>>1825330
The Wrestlemania crowd is different to the broader audience. I don't know why you'd bring that up.
If the rating spike was anything to do with Rollins it would have been sustained instead of plunging to record laws during his reign. Raw was highly rated because people tuned in to see Roman, the screwed babyface, chase Rollins. Much liked Backlash 2000 popped a huge buyrate after Triple H screwed The Rock at WM16.
They lost the interest they'd garnered by the ending to Mania by not following it up properly. Roman was barely featured on the Raw after Mania. If Roman didn't go over Lesnar, he should have at least feuded with Rollins, which would have got him some heat back. Not only did he lose but he did nothing exact revenge on the heel who screwed him.
>>1825367
>They lost the interest they'd garnered by the ending to Mania by not following it up properly.
Wow, it's exactly what I said. We agree, numbskull.
>>1825371
I was attributing the ratings spike to the scenario from the night before. People had expected Reigns to win, despite not being over and something else had happened instead. It was interesting. It was cool.
Then they fucked it up by making Rollins reign terrible and putting the belt on Roman anyway, despite him still not being over.
>>1825367

>>1825376
>People had expected Reigns to win, despite not being over and something else had happened instead.
This had nothing to do with it because ratings were up *1.5 million*. It was a huge increase to a viewership way beyond normal. They drew in new viewers from outside the usual crowd. What the usual crowd wanted or were expecting had nothing to do with it. This ratings spike came from the mythical 'casual audience'. These people wouldn't have had a strong opinion on Roman good or bad, and wouldn't have strong opinions about the build to Mania. The casual audience saw Roman have a great match with Lesnar, and then get screwed. They liked him a lot so they tuned in to RAW the next night so see him try and get his revenge. They didn't get that so they tuned straight out again and ratings have never been anywhere near 5.5 million again.
Roman was absolutely responsible for the great post-Wrestlemania rating. Sorry, but its the truth. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't understand the business or is too self absorbed to look at wrestling through anything other than their own personal taste.
He should have chased Rollins, won the title then rematched Lesnar at Summerslam. They had their chance to make a new superstar and they blew it.
>>1825482
>The casual audience saw Roman have a great match with Lesnar, and then get screwed. They liked him a lot so they tuned in to RAW the next night so see him try and get his revenge. They didn't get that so they tuned straight out again and ratings have never been anywhere near 5.5 million again.

>Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't understand the business or is too self absorbed to look at wrestling through anything other than their own personal taste.
The fucking irony.
>>1825482
Holy shit you're delusional, kek. Pretty sure it was to see Rollins as the new champ and also Lesnar get his revenge as he was the former champion. Why do you think they opened the show straight away with Brock ya retard
>>1825486
What irony? I much prefer Owens and Nakamura to Cena and Reigns. It just doesn't make me blind to reality.
How else do you explain 1.5 million casual fans tuning in after WM31 and then virtually none of them sticking around?

To add on to your point, 3.7 is nothing special in terms of post-Mania Raw ratings. 3.4-3.8 is the standard modern range.
Roman getting 2.9 doesn't mean Seth or Bryan are draws, it means that Roman is outright cancer.
>>1825834
That's Haitch's fault, because we know he has a fetish for super-slow burn shit.
