I broke the nose kingpin yesterday. I was riding down a hill btw. I was lucky because the speed was low, so I didn't fall. But I could eat shit really hard if I'd rode faster. Gee.

Hollow kingpins are shit. You don't have to be a genious engeneer to understand that they are weak. A week ago I broke my tail kingpin, and now the nose one. Replaced them with some regular kingpins. Trucks are quite new btw, I use them just for three months. The brand is THREAT. Fuck, it was a real threat when I heard "blump" and got a wobble lol.

question for you guys, I work in the parks and recreation field...as an irrigation guy. I went to college (while working) and have the chance to be a recreation coordinator.

I did this because my city's effort in skateboarding and its only skatepark has been a fucking joke...but here is the real question...should i bring up ideas on what I could at to the skatepark for potential programs now during an interview (and risk a shit response from a panel who is only interested in the regular sports side) or keep it low key and fight for it after I already have the job?

We all know here most higher ups in the city either don't care, or fucking hate skateboarding...I just don't know if I'll be a sell out...or be careful and then fight for it in the job. Honestly if I can't do something I'll find another city that does.

I like those little moments I have to myself. When I don't care how I look doing the trick, I am glad and proud I just did it, even if I haven't repeated it since. When I just look at the board doing what I want it to do and then me landing on it, that instant.
For example, I had this phobia of frontside tail slides/stalls, I just couldn't turn and put the damn tail on the surface. I did it one day, I just went to the first step of a shallow six stair, rolled vertically on it, did a frontside ollie and tailstalled. The 2 kids I was with at the park gave me some "oh"s and I was glad.

I got big into DH shit and I love double barrel set ups now. I'm gonna eventually set my street board up with double barrels (gotta shave the bushings almost in half) because it feels like they're more stable with looser trucks and return to center quicker and allow me to be more stable when rolling into a trick than cones.

Yo I've been skating for about a month now since i got a board for my 22nd birthday. I ordered a complete online since i wasn't super sure what i needed. I've been hearing trucks should be as wide as your board but my trucks are 7.6 inches on the axel and my board is 8.125. Parts separately, have the shop or yourself build it if you are confident. Mostly complete board trucks and bearinngs are not the best since they are cheaply made. Pretty much paying for what your getting but complete board decks and wheels seem to be good enough. You can check the pastbin for recommended parts, you don't really have to spend money on wheels unless you got the cash, you save less on generic blank wheels but they don't perform as great as the brand stuff though you don't really have to worry when starting out.
It's kinda like prebuilt PC vs built PC
