Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow were a pretty good Road Warriors knock-off. Their work is a little obscure, but worth a look.

Devastation Corporation in CHIKARA is a loveletter to them.

There's the Bloodbound Warriors on the indies but their biggest matches so far have been TV jobber squashes in ROH.

Failing that: War Machine?

Are you talking in terms of gimmick or accomplishments? Because I'll rate the Dudley Boyz next to the Road Warriors as the greatest tag team any day.

No, I don't think so. The Road Warrior were something special, same with a lot of other teams. Midnight Express, Hardyz, The Fantastics, Doc and Gordy, and the Dudleys, were all special. Who knew a team of two big body builders, that by all rights should be hated by the average wrestling fans, were loved no matter what? At a certain point they couldn't be a heel team because they would get the legendary, and I don't use the term lightly when it comes to this, Road Warriors pop from a crowd just showing up. You can't point at another person, much less team, that would be invited to dress with the Japanese wrestlers in Japan. None. No one in the business can disrespect Hawk or Animal and not fear their heads getting torn off. You'll never get a team like them again, and that is ok. Every team should be different, and live and die on their own.
