Genius or lucky?
>>
Out of touch.
>>
Literally trailer trash born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Combines the worst traits of the filthy poor and the filthy rich.
>>
>>1769259
Yes.
>>
A little bit of both.

He managed to nab Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage who were bona-fide megastars that were built elsewhere and he just knew how to promote them. It didn't hurt that his promotion had its roots in New York City.
>>
Genius but not genius enough to adapt to the modern day
>>
>>1769259
Abit of both. You can see he still has the skill to keep a global company afloat with a shit roster, but not the luck like the Monday might wars to make the show outstanding with the wrestlers he had back then.
>>
>>1769335
>WWE Network
He is adapting.

>le WWE is almost out of business meme
>>
>>1769434
Yeah when every other company on TV has some sort of online streaming service it would take a retarded monkey not to start doing it as well.
>>
both
>>
15% genius
85% luck

Think about it, nearly every other business venture failed. XFL, Body building thing, Tout. He's still thinks the face of the place needs to be unpinnable (reigns).

But, someone had to monopolise wrestling, and he did it
>>
>>1769514
Savage was a decade+ veteran before he even set foot in the WWF.

18+
>>
>>1770332
Pipe down hatboy, this is a conversation for adults.

>Savage's literal debut gimmick was "hottest free agent is now joining the company"
>>
>>1770356
>I Have No Comeback, So I Must Meme
>>
>>1770364
So are you this stupid on purpose or does it just come to you naturally?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBIXztSSNr0
>>
He got lucky because the WWWF was a New York territory.
>>
>>1770413
Vince is everything in that image.
>got lucky to be born to whom, where and when he was
>through a can do attitude, hard work and grumption, Vince took his daddy's promotion to unprecedented success by breaking from the NWA, exploiting the new telecommunications boom, buying out NWA workers and exploiting said workers to make himself a billionaire
>
>>
>>1769263
Vince mcmahon Silver spoon in his mouth he didnt know his father till he was almost grown up
>>
>>1769434
Shane wanted to build the network years before he left and had whole plans to do it but was shot down by Vince. Then Vince does it years later when way less people even watch WWE. He's way behind the curve.
>>
>>1769259
Vince is absolutely genius, he has a keen business sense, he is ruthless, and he's overcome circumstances far worse than any aspie retard on this board.

>>1769279
And you're literally a snarky kid on the internet who is talking down about a billionaire. You're the worst part of the internet.

>>1770413
>>1769334
Even if the WWF was based outside of New York, he would have still promoted there eventually and taken over. Vince's national dominance was an inevitability, being in New York only sped the process up. His entire plan at the time was to buy out other people's talent to fuck them over, he bought far more people than just Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan.

>>1769263
>>1769335
Both you of are just parroting things you've heard from other people without forming your own opinion, in fact, I'd imagine the people you are parroting are also parroting other people, and that goes back quite a bit until you have idiots who sides with CM Punk and thought that Triple H and Vince actually hated Daniel Bryan. Wrestling fans are very hive-minded, which is partially the fault of Vince McMahon because he created a platform where mindlessness, opinion, and large emotions can meet together in a visual medium. Which is a fucking incredible thing.

>>1770310
Yes, every other business venture failed because literally 80% of all businesses fail within the first 1.5 years. Failure is an innate part of the entrepreneurial process. Even then, the XFL didn't fail because Vince failed it, it failed because TV executives didn't want to risk the investment that would be necessary to build the XFL brand. Also, really? You're still on about Reigns? What the fuck is with this Anti-Reigns hivemind that ignores reality in order to hate on that guy?

>>1770657
Almost as if the technology to do the WWE Network didn't exist 6-7 years ago.

>>1770413
Haha yeah fuck successful people right? There's no fucking way you could work construction for 90 hours a week the way Vince did.
>>
>>1771066
>writing this much of a defense for a man who literally does not give 1 single fuck about you
>>
>>1771069
This isn't about the defense of Vince McMahon, its the defense of what he represents and what the idiots who hate him represent.
>>
>>1771072
>idiots who hate him

This still isn't going to get you a job.
>>
>>1769259
Yeah he was a genius.

Senile now, though. It's always a bit sad when he shows up on TV with that glazed and confused look in his eye, not understanding why he is not getting the reaction he wants.
>>
>>1771066
Holy shit Vince chill

>TV ratings
>A good metric of success
Pick one.
>>
>>1771446
They're a good metric of financial success you maroon.
>>
>>1771452
Except that the WWE's business model isn't dependent on TV ratings.
The WWE has the best merchandising, making 4 times the amount of money concerts can make off merchandise, and the WWE does it on a weekly basis.
Then you also factor in the WWE Network which pulls in 100 million with very little loss and lots of room for expansion.
Then there's several other spots in which the WWE makes revenue.

And not to mention, TV ratings in GENERAL are going down. Using lowered TV ratings is disingenuous at best.

>>1771516
>Except that the WWE's business model isn't dependent on TV ratings.

they just just a brand split, because ratings for Smackdown was so bad
>>
>>1771516
It's not dependent, but you can't spin the decreasing ratings as something other than bad.

>Then you also factor in the WWE Network which pulls in 100 million with very little loss

Kevin Nash (memes aside) sumed Vince up pretty well

"See Vince and the WWE is a lot like McDonalds"
"So you have your granddad, he starts McDonalds and he hits it big, then your father puts in a drive thru and really changes the game, and then you come along and introduce the happy meal. Sure you did a lot, but you also started on some pretty solid ground to begin with"
>>
>>1771066
>80% of all businesses fail within the first 1.5 years

You'd think a genius' businesses wouldn't fail though?
>>
>>1769444
>1.88, laughable all-time low rating for Raw
>embarassing net worth
>zero, fucking zero big new stars on the horizon, all the big names will be gone within the next ten years, max
>low profit margins
>same cancerous smark pandering that led to the death of WCW
>writing gets worse by the week
>Vince is dying
>Steph and Trips about to take over and further drive the product into the ground
>TNA under the helm of Big Tunes Billy once again becoming not quite competition, but a refreshing and viable alternative
>mainstream appeal: nonexistent
>forced to keep career-endingly injured wrestlers around just so they won't sue and bankrupt the company
>Benoit ten-year anniversary right around the corner
The end is near, faggot.
