During the podcast, Reeves said he was always irked by people saying he failed in the main event spot when he faced then WWE Champion CM Punk at Hell In A Cell (2012).

> That always kind of upset me too, when people say I failed in the main event. I thoroughly succeeded in the main event and I proved myself. I was not put in the main event though to be the man. I was booked into an unfortunate situation where I'm pulled, I'm put into Cena's spot, who Cena at the time was supposed to work Punk to put Punk over with all that. Put in that situation, where you take the undefeated streak and you put me in there. And also, at that point, I'd not had long matches and I could. I wrestled in developmental for years. That was never an issue. It was the image we're creating on TV is this guy kills people and then you're taking that and going against these local guys and whatnot, and then you're putting me in the ring with a guy like Punk. And no offense to Punk, Punk was extremely talented and he's a hell of a wrestler. And despite what people might think, I do respect him for his wrestling ability and the things that he did in the WWE. But you take me and how I look and you're putting me in the ring with him after doing all that and now you're asking us to do a whole different style and the people were not conditioned to that. And it was also horrible booking from that point on in my career. I think I lost the next seven pay-per-view matches or the next six. And during that time, I was the number two merchandise seller in the WWE, which a lot of people don't know about.

The former member of RybAxel professed that WWE should try to get all of its performers over and make sure that everyone always looks as strong as possible.

> "The WWE's mission and goal should be, from top to bottom, from the lowest Superstar on the totem pole to the highest Superstar on the totem pole, is to go out there and make sure that each individual Superstar's brand is as strong as possible. They should be invested from the lowest guy to the top guy. Everybody is f--king important in that company and it's not fair. And you have your guys who are making your money because that is the way you're portraying it and I get that, but everybody is important and for a guy to be limited and told no he can't have outside opportunities, that only hurts your own brand from a company standpoint. The stronger your individual brands are, the stronger your company is. And I don't think they understand that or they do and they just don't care and it's frustrating. And I'm not the only guy."

Reeves divulged that he will continue to wrestle for the love of it and to prove his doubters wrong, as he does not need the money.

> "I don't have to wrestle anymore. I am fine financially, very well off, and I've done [well] for myself. I'm doing this because I love this and I absolutely want to go out and prove to everybody I didn't agree with WWE's business model and where they had me throughout my career there. I'm going to go out, and I can't control how much time I'm given when I show up, I can only show up and do what I'm allowed. Now, I have full control and I'm going to go out and show all these doubters and prove to everybody how good I am, like I did there." Reeves continued, "I'm going to go out there and prove [to] them all that I am the number one big guy out there and they're going to see it firsthand."

Based Ryback gonna reinvent himself and come to WWE in 5 years to a monster pop

No, he is only demanding what is right for employees. WWE is a shitty company.

no, he's demanding that pic related gets as much air time and development as homer simpson

it's just not possible. wwe isn't a competition it's a television show, and in television shows you need background characters and supporting cast. you can't have a guy like zack ryder on a hot streak when hes there to put over other guys. they have their role and they need to play it. the simple fact of the matter is that heath slater isn't as important as john cena. tyler breeze isn't as important as seth rollins. titus oneil isn't as important as roman reigns. you need guys for the big names to ravage and beat with ease.
>>
>>1721438
>they should bury a low card guy like slater instead of letting him do some comedy gold
Is that's what you're saying?
The big guy is right
>>
>>1721703
the big guy is saying slater should have as many wins as cena should have as many wins as darren young should have as many wins as aj styles should have as many wins as ryder should have as many wins as reigns because they're all valuable and their individual brands deserve respect :)
>>
>>1721690
No he's not. He made it clear there were guys on both the bottom and top of the "totem pole." What he's saying is when you get someone who's a strong merch seller like Zach, emphasize it. Use it. Don't bury him over and fucking over again just because he's not predestined to grab the brass ring. The more merch each wrestler sells, the more money the 'E makes, and the more money THEY can make. Everyone wins. Burying people is never a good idea.
>>
>>1721722
thats great until they pull a brock lesnar or a cm punk or a steve austin and their name gets bigger than their paycheck and they walk out and make more money on the indies and leave wwe high and dry

it makes sense for them to keep the guys who could make more money on the indies down because like, they will. someone like cena (who is loyal to a fault) or reigns (who started in wwe, knows nothing of wrestling outside the wwe, wouldn't know how to navigate or negotiate the indies) makes infinitely more sense to build up because they're homegrown talent who belong to the wwe and will always be there for the wwe. someone like zack ryder can fuck off if he's not happy in his spot.
>>
>>1721732
Ryder actually makes good money, I just used him as more of a physical example, we see how he gets treated. His pay reflects the shit he gets though.

I'm also not a super smark for these darling indie shitters. I mean, some guys like Samoa Joe who would probably rather the relatively high pay of the 'E aren't leaving once they're there. They stayed out as long as they did because they weren't being offered enough, so you know the money they ended up taking will keep them happy.

But you're missing the point. A low or mid-card guy is going to have an easier schedule. No big stakes matches, no one's REALLY wanting to see you at meet and greets or any outside-the-ring events, so if you can shill a lot of merch and get an extra $100,000 a year on your salary, who's going to turn that schedule down for bumping in bingo halls, really? Fucking no one.
>>
>>1721417
bump
>>
Ryback was over as fuck at hell in a cell and even had to fucking Shellshock CM punk at the top of the cage after the match so the crowd could go home happy. He should have fucking won. Fuck the Rock

This thinking is shit

If that was the case Stone Cold would have never gotten as big as he did.

What the fuck happened to the days of pushing people the crowd liked, and turning heel the people that the crowd didn't?

When you take someone like Zach Ryder who people want to see make it, and push him down you are just losing money.
>>

>What the fuck happened to the days of pushing people the crowd liked, and turning heel the people that the crowd didn't?

Vince bought out his competition.
>>
>>1721446
>come to WWE
He's blacklisted. He's not coming back to WWE and it wouldn't surprise me if he never wrestles in a big promotion again. He's a delusional, socialist troublemaker.
>>
>>1723573
>If that was the case Stone Cold would have never gotten as big as he did.
You're seriously comparing Ryback to Stone Cold Steve Austin? That's pretty dumb.
>>
>>1723642
He's making the larger point that if WWF didn't capitalise on Austin and instead kept him in his spot on their caste system the company would've very likely collapsed in the late 90s
>>
>>1723647
I don't care. Ryback is not a very good performer. He had a chant that was over. Sheamus has a chant that's over.
>>
>>1723664
>I don't care about points 'cause I'm getting triggered by Ryback

holy shit you might be the most diaper-crapping /wwe/ babby yet
>>
>>1723664

So basically what you're saying is he is Daniel Bryan except he actually has a good physique
>>
>>1723780
except all Ryback did was get heat with smarks while D-Bry was over with everyone.
>>
>>1721417
Commie who claims he needs $3000 a day to travel and eat
>>
Ryback was destined to fail considering he had the look of Goldberg and the ring gear of RVD.

Ryback looked like a terrible CAW and while he had the ability in the ring to be a great heel, he should definitely never have even touched a belt until he came into his own. The chant was over for a bit but then everyone realized that even for a big guy, he was outclassed in the ring. They could've put him in The Shield and it would've been fine.
>>
>>1723805
When a wrestler like Ryback is booked like shit, smarks and semi-smart marks realize that the company doesn't give a single fuck about that wrestler and that there's no point in building hype around them.

I'm an attitude-era mark who absolutely loved Kane before they unmasked him and I'd love to see people like Ryback, Rusev, Cody Rhodes, Zack Ryder, Cesaro, and Bray Wyatt succeed as big names in the industry.

It really is a damn shame WWE's creative team is such a steaming pile of shit.
>>
It amazes me how some people can't understand what Ryback is saying here. Are wrestling fans really this dumb or am I getting worked?
